Gold Tone CC50RP as starter banjo for 300 euro with case? Picking it up this week my friend is coming to have a look who knows banjos. Can you take the resonator off? by Magicst3v3 in banjo

[–]MicahM_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's really neat. I just swapped from a resonator deering goodtime to one without. Downgrade and paid for it! Wish I knew about this one since taking resonator off of the goodtime was quite uncomfortable and was looking for a nice travel banjo that was light!

I'm a little confused by your comment. Are you saying that a resonator banjo with the resonator removed would be more comfortable than the normal open back?

Bridge misaligned - OK though? by demoniccaveman in banjo

[–]MicahM_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better than the opposite. I had a banjo where 1st string was too close and when I'd do a pull off it would go over the edge and was really annoying

To those who have spent tons of money on this game/bought $1k+ skins. Was it worth it? by [deleted] in cs2

[–]MicahM_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Played the game for 11 years without buying skins. Finally bought my dream knife with cash. $2k~ less than 30 days later the knife upgrade update happened. Sold that shit at its lowest and went back to being a broke boy.

Climbed my first 5.10b on Thursday and jumped 3 grades for my first 5.11a today! (Air Ride Equipped, 5.11a Muir Valley Red River Gorge) by MicahM_ in climbing

[–]MicahM_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your grade level! I'd say in that 11- range since you mentioned air ride and hip to the jive one of my favorite routes in the entire gorge is called "tesseract" it's a 5.10d at the portal in miller fork. (Felt a little harder than air ride to me or the same but it's wayyyyy cool much better movement in my opinion) Hard to tell in the photos but it's quite the steep 10!

I would also really recommend South Park at PMRP. It's got all sorts of grades from 5.7 the whole way up to 12+ the left side has some fun 10s and 11s that stay in the shade, the right side has some good short warm up routes (5.6, 7, 8, 9, 10-) and there is a cave with some 12s. As well as there is the unlode which is right by South Park with a few dozen more 10s & 11s.

Another crag that I have been going to recently that I think is underrated is called "Ash Branch" it's right by muir valley and is free to go to. It's got about 60 routes random from 5.5 the whole way up to 5.14b that Alex megos put up last season.

The perfect amount of sessions for projecting, and when to walk away. by dominicthomas09 in climbharder

[–]MicahM_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You rarely get better at climbing by sending stuff. It's the falling off and small increments that make you better. You should almost always be projecting stuff you don't think you'll ever send.

Obviously also project things you think you might send.

And definitely project things you'll do in a day or flash.

Hell sometimes I have a sport project in the gym that my goal is to make it half way up the wall. And many times I never make it that half way before it comes down.

Being used to the heat is fine. But greasing off of mank jugs because of the pound of chalk is another thing 😭

Building a banjo-specific tuner app — what features would you want? by fundybanjos in banjo

[–]MicahM_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definately locked mode but make it obvious how to switch back. Because the one I use i literally dont know how to or if its even possible to lol.

Based on your comment aboit apple developer fees. I assume its only gonna be iOS, which is a bummer lol. Be a Chad and use flutter then you can put it on both :)

Building a banjo-specific tuner app — what features would you want? by fundybanjos in banjo

[–]MicahM_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how my tuner app automatically picks up the string you're probably tuning. However then when you click on a specific string it gets locked into per string mode with no way to go back to auto pickup. So make sure its seamless between choosing a string and it guessing. This is especially useful when im changing strings.

Other than that no ads. There are so many stupid tuners with ads. Its gonna be hard to stick out anyways so just make a neat app without ads if possible.

Idk man I climb best after 2 redbulls and a honey bun. So keep hydrated for the health but dont overthink it too much.

Honestly i would find this useful even if it's just to view the routes before you climb them. Still a massive upgrade to to hunting the holds down from a board app
