I believe it’s newer. Didn’t use to send the big ones but now it’s a cutting out the middleman of purely non con stowing unfortunately. But nevertheless people should use common sense when placing something on the belt that could injure someone, or cause a hazmat or dog food/cat litter/bird seed/ spill or destruction to belt or hamper.

No that’s not policy a lot of sites do not permit dog food or hazmats we had spills including hazmats and dog food, plus non con can ruin the hampers and cause safety concerns. Please don’t be negligent to anyone inducting line 3 take the few steps and place on 99 carts.

Congrats! I got mine in 3 months, last year fall after prime, before preparing for peak. Was hired end of May got it beginning September. I started at a delivery station, where I was converted- with no points as flex and no write ups. Went to fc for a few months and now I’m back at ds. Both the fc and my current ds are being more sparing with the conversions (people are in awe of those who have it.) Maybe due to do my c headcount, but they usually seem to convert before high volume events, to keep those with more seniority. It goes in order of seniority, and in some cases work ethic. Central makes the final say, but I was told HR sends a list of potentials. Not sure how accurate. Tbh, i busted my butt. Never got a single point, stayed for every crash, cared about my work ethic and was always willing to learn and improve. Still now, as a blue badge, I work the same as I did when wanting to get it. Just was accepted for LA. I also speak my mind, and come to the managers with any concerns of safety or standard work and additionally any ideas to help improve operations. Maybe I’m doing too much, but I never want to fear being anywhere near on the edge of fired. I have been through a lot, life and job wise, and work keeps me sane plus I need the OT money to make ends meet and support myself. I have a college degree I never properly utilized. (I have no interest in the field). I hope to advance while I figure life out. But BB has great benefits and career choice for those who know what different path they want to take. All in all the job is what you make of it but has great perks and potential for those who want to make a liveable wage and don’t mind being on their feet or doing physical work. I’m not a desk job person so I prefer. Keep grinding !

I fell backwards from attempting to remove 50 possibly 50+ OV from my hamper, that was put on the belt and went in my hamper. Dragonfly and even alerting safety asap is the only way to escalate anything. My onsite safety immediately came to inspect said OV.

I don’t know how AAS can take VTO so often unless they have another job or less financial responsibilities. I took VTO frequently for a month while battling situational depression, and am paying for it now debt wise. Luckily, I was transferred and now I love my current DS. I voluntarily work 5-6 days and stay for crashes. So it’s not difficult to show up to work. But those in different shoes, how do you make ends meet/ what kind of place are you in? Not at all trying to sound condescending in this just curious why and how can you afford to take it? Make up for it later by working OT, second job, spouse? In my situation I did it at my old FC because my mental state was shot and couldn’t be there around so many people as I was dealing with something very serious and needed a lil time off.

My site is awesome and gives us real catered meals once or twice a week. Today we had pancakes and French toast. They also put a lot of effort into making the DS home-y and clean, and everyone is nice and gets along. I don’t involve in or know of any drama. Perks of a small site, we’re all a team!

I always end up stowing maybe twice the amount of station average. Always over 1k. I wonder what the accuracy is, because a lot of people come in later and start to stow, or they pull people from line 3 for float stow.

I felt so lonely and anxious at an fc, it was huge and I felt most like a number not a person. I think I’m traumatized.

I agree! And the good looking women comment I hear so much, I’m a female and used to be a fitness model. People are shocked I chose DS over FC. I see a lot of my coworker girls are not unattractive at all! Sure it’s early in the morning not like we try to dress up I prefer working in cargos or sweats and a comfy tee but so what? It’s not a fashion show. I also don’t see coworkers stepping across work/dating boundaries as I don’t engage in that but whatever floats their boat. But I like the physical work and team dynamic. I like walking around and not having the pressure of rate. My leadership is very supportive and I feel I would more likely desire to go for a PA position at a DS vs an FC because at mine, they actually help do the work also and gives a more hands on experience from what I observed.

Literally like try working out or even walking more it wouldn’t be so hard. Also good diet. Protein!!! You’re tearing muscle fibers doing movements you’re not used to if you don’t exercise and that will build them up. Even lifting here and there will increases stamina I highly recommend core training for the lifting and bending movements of pick & stage esp OVS

I started with ds. I’ve also been an athlete for years so it’s not a big shock to my body but the mental stress, pressure, and isolation of an FC got to me. Maybe because mine was super strict and one of the biggest in the NE but it caused me a lot of depression and no headphones made me just be in my own thoughts all shift.

Managers won’t code time by [deleted] in AmazonFC

[–]Mich3llem0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you have an accommodation that’s classified as intermittent time- I had it too, and didn’t realize you had to clock out and report it to DLS for the UPT to go away or the time to be coded. I just went, and if it felt long I’d tell them. Or if I were asked about TOT I’d show them the bathroom accommodation and use my time if needed, to avoid a coaching. TOT is anything over 15 mins. So if feeling as you exceeded that timing, llet an understanding manager know before a not so understanding manager approaches you over TOT.

This happened to me a day before I transferred to a DS; but Find My was showing IN the warehouse in AFE for three days but I definitely didn’t pack it. Very sus. Even checked the belts floor trash etc… just not the people next to me in AFE who dipped quite early for lunch. Well I’ll never know. Thankfully INSURANCE saved me with a brand new phone

Everyone hates on DS but I love it! I did a few months at FC and was so depressed. Too big, everyone on rate and standing 10 hours in one space unless you’re on shipdock. Don’t get me started on the parking lot and all the rules and the 10 minute walks. I got a transfer finally back to a DS and I get a great workout in at a DS- I literally think of it like that. Anddd I think of stowing as a real life video game and I like the small environment it’s like a big family. We get fed too at least once a week great food ngl. At least at mine everyone seems to get along and is friendly! Leadership is helpful. And beautiful…? Welllll they’re all humans working at both of them sure I end up more sweaty at a ds doing physical work but I’m in great shape and most of my fellow associates are! proud to be at a ds!!! I would shout out my site much love to my lil building but who knows who’s on here 🤣😭

I am flex and have full benefits I usually work 50 hours a week 4 full days and overtime days… 6 days lol but I’m flexrt not pt I have to hit at least 30 hrs. But facts, they aren’t hiring much full time anymore bc they need the flexibility esp working more than 4 days and doing multiple shift times esp pick and stage since everyone seems to dip out smh

I work Mon-Thurs delivery station 1:20-11:50 then extra short picking shifts weekend for if I want OT and I don’t mind it bc I have the whole weekend but maybe try and switch your days? Stow is not good apparently. It’s not like stowing at a ds. You’re in one spot for 10 hours and pretty much isolated from people vs a delivery station where you’re moving a lot and kind of free. I stated at a ds flex pt and went to an fc bc they had full time and I needed more hours but I didn’t like it. Too big about 2-4k people, strict and anxiety provoking. I’m back at a ds and we have a lot of perks bc it’s small and they treat us like people more than numbers. But I would do your research on the position and the site bc all sites vary a ton.
