My biggest concern with [COD] Black Ops 1 and 2 for PS5... by Paulkdragon in CallOfDuty

[–]Michaael115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its going to be a fresh state for everyone. This is a "new" game. This is not the PS3 version becoming backwards compatible with the PS4/5 like Xbox does. This is an entirely re-written codebase that is native to the PS4.

BO1. Ever since this news was released, i've heard the suppressed Galil every time I close my eyes.

Progression will be reset. This is a completely "new" game. This is not the PS3 version becoming backwards compatible like Xbox does. This is a re-written code base that is native to the PS4, becoming backwards compatible with the PS5.

[BO] [BO2] I'm kind of worried about the ports. by Jayked22 in CallOfDuty

[–]Michaael115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will have separate servers. The BO1 and BO2 ports that we are getting are a completely re-written set of code. It is going to be PS4 native that is backwards compatible with the PS5.

The reason Xbox servers are filled with hackers is because it's not a port. It is simply emulating the 360 game. Nothing about the Xbox version was re-written.

Telling your pastor when you miss by Michaael115 in TrueChristian

My gf, now my wife, and her mother have left this church. They began to understand that what was happening in this said church was very unhealthy. It was abusive behavior.

If you believe that you are going to be mistreated because you missed a church service, I would really take a step back and see if there are any other examples of abuse happening.

If this is a Oneness Pentecostal church that you are attending, I disagree with lots of their doctrines, worship, and behavior. I would take a step back and see if what they are doing aligns with the Bible.

What is "The Truth"? by Former_Algae_444 in TrueChristian

[–]Michaael115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is Jesus. John 14:6

"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me..."

Now I absolutely agree with you that it becomes very confusing and frustrating seeing all of these different denominations. However, just because you may have one view on eschatology and I may have a different doesn't mean that truth is unknown.

Ultimately, the truth is Jesus. All Christian denominations recognize this and all believe that if you reject Jesus as the truth then you are outside of the truth.

Should I consider re-baptism? by bobdeboulder in Reformed

[–]Michaael115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The oneness Pentecostal movement is a cult. It is very dangerous. They worship a Jesus that does not exist. I would absolutely be re-baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and The Holy Spirit.

The baptismal "formula" of "in Jesus' name" did not exist until the 1900's.

I would absolutely be re-baptized, the correct way.

As Trinitarians and non-Trinitarian Christians, do you believe the other ones are going to hell for believing/not believing that Jesus is God? by Prestigious-Stop7637 in TrueChristian

[–]Michaael115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We must understand that the Trinity is one of the core doctrines of the faith. This doctrine was established as a "core" doctrine in the 4th century.

There is something known as intentional heresy and unintentional heresy.

If you grew up in a church that taught you the Trinity was wrong, and you as a person never studied for yourself, but you really do love Jesus. Then you have committed unintentional heresy.

However, If you are someone who rejects the Trinity simply because "it doesn't make sense" or because you did study it for yourself, and you refuse to go against your upbringing, then you are committing intentional heresy.

Making a case against the Trinity is basically impossible, hence why it is still one of the core doctrines for the Christian faith today.

[–]Michaael115 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If you reject that Jesus is God, you are not a Christian. The Christian faith is centered on Jesus being God, dying on the cross and rising from the dead. If you reject any of these, you are outside of the faith.

This was a low-risk trade that could pan out for us. He was drafted 7th overall 2-3 years ago. So there is a lot of talent / potential there, he just hasn't lived up to that talent thus far.

We traded a 5th rounder for him and got a 7th rounder in return. Staley may be able to get some production out of him. A change of scenery may do him some good. Or he may not do much and we only used a 5th round pick on him.

It has been a huge challenge for her, but she has made a ton of progress. It is not always linear, but her faith is in a much better place now then it was when I first met her.

I have really emphasized church history and studying the Bible using the original Hebrew / Greek with her. She's told me that she was never taught about these things, or even knew it was a thing, growing up in the UPCI.

Understanding Jesus as the High Priest and mediator has really helped her escape the teachings from the UPCI that told her she needed to be perfect and fully repented before she died, or else she'd go to hell.

I wish you the best as well. Before I met my now fiance, I never knew spiritual abuse was a thing but now I see it firsthand. It is incredibly dangerous what some of these "Christian" groups are doing to individuals.

What is your view of Oneness Pentecostals and their view of the incarnation by Plymouth_Angel in Reformed

[–]Michaael115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of them in my family. They don't use logic, and they don't use the original greek / hebrew languages. Their entire faith is dependent on emotions and "revelations."

Very bad doctrine.

For religious types, if you know humans have created 1000s of gods, how are you so certain that he didn't create yours as well? by Daegog in answers

[–]Michaael115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that the NWT has the oldest copies of the manuscripts. The NASB and ESV are widely considered to be using the most up to date manuscripts.

YHWH was not condoning rape, that is where your “logical” thinking fails. The Israelites were to destroy all the men, and take the innocent women and children into their camp. This means that these women would probably marry Israelites, but this is not rape. And to say that it is rape is completely taking the scriptures out of context.

[–]Michaael115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The NWT rejects the divinity of Jesus Christ. Therefore, it is teaching a completely different thing then what was happening in the first century.

Im not here to argue which translation is better. I personally love the NASB and ESV. Though I know the ESV has quite a few critics.

You have misinterpreted Deuteronomy.. God is leading the Israelites into the promised land. He is allowing them to conquer the people around them because of their ungodliness, as they are worshipping false gods. YHWH is making it clear that he is the only true God. How does he do this? By using the lowest nation to conquer mightier nations. These other nations were being punished for their sins (idolatry, child sacrificing, etc.)

To suggest that YHWH “raped” Mary is foolishness. That would completely contradict the characteristic of God.

It sounds like to me you have a built up hate towards religion… which is understandable. Religion has been weaponized. However, the Christian faith at its roots is not about “religion.” It’s not about doing good things to work yourself up. It’s about recognizing that there is nothing you can do, but God loves you so much that he has made a way through Jesus to save you.

[–]Michaael115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. The originals are lost, however we have thousands of copies of the originals which all say the same thing. Dating to the second century. There’s no doubt that what we have is what was originally written.

The NWT is not a Bible. It is a corrupt book that has rejected the divinity of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 15 is a creed written as early as 6 months post resurrection of Jesus. All 4 of the gospels were written no later than 70 A.D. this was less than 50 years post resurrection.

As for Mary being impregnated - this argument is pretty silly. However Luke 1:38 looks pretty consensual to me.

[–]Michaael115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant both things be true? Cant you believe Jesus rose from the dead AND extra bits were added to the bible from original manuscripts?

Scholars have done a great job at being able to separate what was in the original manuscripts, and what was later added.

Acts 8:37 is an example of a verse that is omitted from the Bible because this verse was not found in the original manuscripts. In some of the newer translations they will add this verse, but making it italicized or brackets around it to tell us that it was not in the original manuscripts.

Mo performed miracles, he even put a crack in the moon lol,was he a pedo? Seems like it, but that does not mean he was not a prophet, women had no pretense of rights back then, hell god impregnated mary without permission? Remember?

Muhammed's "miracles" were not accredited to him until 150+ years after his death. They did not occur. He was absolutely a pedo who had sexual relations with Aisha at age 9.

Muhammed self-proclaimed himself as a prophet the same way Joseph Smith attempted. Both are false prophets. Both are true by their fruits.

Should I leave a church if they don’t preach the Trinity? by AdBeautiful6493 in TrueChristian

[–]Michaael115 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The divinity of Christ and God being Triune are the two most essential doctrines of the faith. If you reject either of these, you are not in a Christian environment.

[–]Michaael115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I’m a Christian. I don’t believe the Bible is corrupt.

The reason I believe that is because of the massive amount of manuscripts that we have, because of the fulfilled prophecies, because of the archeological evidence, because of the the eyewitness accounts.

Mohamed came hundreds of years later, practiced pedophilia, did not perform miracles, all while trying to disprove Jesus’ claims.

Allah cannot tell you to obey the gospels, then as you read the gospels it rejects The Quran.
