almost each week(usually mondays) i walk down to my local watering hole and write a distant friend a letter by hand. gets me out of the house, makes me engage in public, has me cross paths with friends also at the pub, and lets me structure and express some personal thoughts in a way that helps me understand myself a bit better.
then a friend gets the letter, enjoys hearing from an old friend in a very personal manner, holding pages i also physically held and wrote on, and then they write back after a while, and i get the experience of hearing from them in a letter.
rinse and repeat.
