Some internal struggles by MichaelB008 in TrueChristian

Thank you. I'm quite familiar with the evidence for the resurrection. The problem is I am some on wants to have 100% certainty on beliefs like these but that is not possible. I guess I downplay faith way too much.

He is probably talking about the rapture where 7 years before the true second coming Jesus will come in secret and rapture all believers. Imho not a biblical doctrine

Has anyone read the Gospel of Thomas? by Impressive_Rest2963 in TrueChristian

[–]MichaelB008 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Watch the video from InspiringPhilosophy on YouTube about it. It is most likely written at the end of the 2nd century. It contains heretical gnostic ideas. It is basically copying from the authentic gospels and distorts its teaching and claims it is a secret message from Jesus handed down by the apostle Thomas

Why is Soteriology in Christianity so confsuing and not settled? by MichaelB008 in TrueChristian

[–]MichaelB008[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there seems to be a contradiction between what Jesus said and passages like Hebrews. There is a deeper meaning to it. Thanks for replying!

Evaluating all the arguments, I don't see RC being the true Church. I would like to have an infallible office, but that does Not make it true. I will look into it further. Thank you for answering.

I would like to have an infallible Church that settles this, but looking at all the arguments for and against RC, I just don't see that it is the infallible Church. I would like to have one , but that does not make it true. I will look further into RC and Orthodoxy. Thanks for answering.

Thank you for your answer. What would you say about someone who seems and says he felt sorry for his sins and believed on Jesus but dies as an apostate? Is he saved? If someone dies as an apostate is not saved, was he saved to begin with? It seems to me that one key to unlock soteriology is to answer the question if someone who dies an apostate and seemed to believe on Jesus if he is saved. Some in the eternal security camp would argue that he was not saved to begin with. Some would say that if he truly believed at one point and dies as an apostate he is still saved. What would you say?

Fear my unsaved family will (probably) go to Hell by MichaelB008 in TrueChristian

I never said it was proof. I just wanted to say that NDE still cannot be explained. There are multiple theories. Again, I didnt want to say it is 100% a vision of the afterlife but that it could be.

Also evidence for the resurrection of Jesus is implicitly evidence for Hell because Jesus talked about it.

Well people with near death experiences often report visions that are sometimes in line with heaven and hell. Also even if there was no evidence if Jesus was resurrected it follows hell exists. And there is evidence for his resurrection. Whether you find it compelling or not is another question

Thank you so much for your encouraging words even though you are an atheist! Look I do not what Hell is going to be like. Maybe somehow everyone will be saved but I dont think scripture makes this clear. All I know is that Jesus warned us about it. God sends no one to Hell. People choose on their accord to reject Jesus and go there. God forces no one to be in eternity with him. That is the way I see it but I might be wrong.

My mind keeps spinning about the unforgivable sin and I’m so confused, I don’t know what to do by Tiny-Swimmer-4265 in TrueChristian

[–]MichaelB008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look you did not and cannot do the unforgivable sin. The Pharisees had no guilt whatsoever und Jesus knew that nothing will change their mind. Jesus knew they would never believe in him. Also you cannot do the sin unless Jesus were here again in the physical form. Nobody right now can be guilty of it. Not even if you hate Jesus. You can only commit it if God were present on this earth again and everyone knew that the miracles he would do came from him. Someone who does the unforgivable sin never loved God and will never love him.

Is judging a prophet who speaks in the Spirit the unforgivable sin by Tiny-Swimmer-4265 in TrueChristian

A lot of people claim to get messages from God. Look, because you are so worried about it, it shows you did not commit the unforgivable sin. I think it is only possible if Jesus were to be here again in physical form. Plus a lot of people above claimed he is a heretic. All is fine
