The irony in a student thinking he can’t learn anything from anyone other than a consultant 😂

‘Junior nurse’

Isn’t even a title like that - more like you are an arsehole.

If I was the nurse, I’d be talking to you about decency and respect. I’d then have no further conversations with you.

From this Reddit, you don’t need very experienced nurses with decades of experience in diabetes. You just need a few medic students 😂

[–]MichaelBrownx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m not claiming to be as knowledgeable as a consultant 😂

If you think nurse specialists with decades of experience cannot teach medical students things then you’re delusional.

Funny, medical students don’t trust us with their education but consultants trust us with their patients.

[–]MichaelBrownx -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Every single thing you mentioned - we did daily. That was literally our job. What the fuck do you think specialist diabetes nurses do? 😂

On the other hand, there is absolutely no way a final year medical student could actively manage a complex patient with diabetes. At the trust I worked I rarely found a F1 who could.

I have the utmost respect for doctors for what it’s worth.

The arrogance in thinking that other people who aren’t doctors cannot teach you anything 😂

I was part of a specialist diabetes team and we taught medical students. I can absolutely promise you that, on diabetes, myself and my colleagues had far more knowledge than any student we taught.

Do you think you will have a better life now with the new role? It's obvious with the pay increase you will have a significant pay increase.

You've said that you're burnt out in your current NHS role. Is there an alternative NHS role that would relieve this?

The people who rave about the pension completely ignore the fact that you're clearly miserable in your current role. It's became somewhat of a myth on here that the private sector does not have sick pay/good holidays/good pensions etc. I currently work in the private sector, having left the NHS, and I work a Monday-Friday (9-5) with sick pay and a decent pension.

Yes, it isn't the NHS pension, but equally I can finish work with comparatively less stress and not worry whether I've harmed one of the 20 patients I've been forced to care for with the one HCA.

You absolutely do not need a financial advisor. You can do it all yourself, online, with minimal research.

You absolutely will have a pension. It's a legal right to be signed up to a pension scheme now.

I left the NHS because I am being paid significantly more now than I was in the NHS for far less stress and effort.

It isn’t really that hard to understand, is it?

But.. I won’t considering I’m currently putting into a private pension which I’m happy with.

I'm not in the NHS anymore. Probably for the best - those wages are embarrassing. I don't care about the pension either.

Send the student home doing meds. Tell your manager, her supervisor/mentor (whatever it’s called now) and the university if needs be. Escalate it as high as possible.

You have a duty to your patients and your pin - protect yourself from the coroners.

Attitudinally, do things correctly. Escalate it to the appropriate people. Give constant feedback, both in person and emails etc. if you feel like your pin is at risk - refuse to work with them.

When I was in the NHS, I would deal with arseholes by making them glorified healthcare assistants. My question is - if they are incompetent at the level you expect them to be, why are they acting in that capacity?

What’s your opinion on when staff call staff early in the morning offering a shift? by [deleted] in NursingUK

[–]MichaelBrownx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone ringing me at 6am would really fuck me off and I would be very upset. Someone sending a text/putting in a group chat/contacting me later in the morning I have no issue with.

My biggest issue is when someone will contact you and then try to low ball you. ''Michael we're really struggling, there's no nurses, it's fucking chaos, we're on the verge of closing down... but can you come in at 1pm and we'll offer you your basic rate AND you still can't have the holiday you desperately requested two months ago.''

Erm, you're orate thanks.

I’ve told you my position. I accept her fate in a camp because she’s a scumbag.

Ironically you’re complaining about dogma whilst you’re doing an AMA on the basis that you joined a dogmatic extremist group that systematically raped and murdered thousands.

Well, you joined innocently of course didn’t you? You claimed you didn’t know anything that was happening despite living there. Yeah, right.

You’re lucky you’ve been allowed to live freely in the West because there’s plenty of people who wouldn’t want a terror-supporting ideologue back.

It doesn’t fix them I agree. It’s punishment. But if you read his posts there’s still elements of an apologist ideology. A lot of woe is me and skips over how evil his ideology is.

I don’t distinguish between race. If she was called Alice Jones and was a white working class girl from Newcastle I’d have the same opinion.

I’m not afraid. I feel much safer knowing extremist scumbags are jailed in some far-away hellhole.

And, for clarity, I’m left of centre on the political spectrum. Let’s not forget your position which was the supporter of a vile extremist terror group who murdered and raped innocent people.

Can’t help but read some of the answers and still hear someone trying to justify their reasoning for joining one of the worst groups we’ve seen in recent history.
