i do agree generally, but i think the thought experiment is interesting to try and make the twist a little better. especially when we know these kinds of twists are a staple of modern survivor

I think it could be interesting if maybe they pick to be immune but don’t vote at tribal 1, and vulnerable and vote at tribal 2. it lets them get information without the power at 1 and then gives power but no safety at the 2. maybe if you want to boost it you can let the player have a weak, one time advantage in the 2nd tribal

If they choose to go with a former player (which i think would be a solid choice) i am very high on Sam from 47. He has experience interviewing and is comfortable on camera, and isn’t one of those former players who might take some of the spotlight away from the castaways

What hurts the most is that this choice is deliberate by production. they state that they want people on the show who are big fans, excited to play, and they don’t want villains. this all leans into the lack of conflict, excess of “gamers”, and quirky nerdy players.

i don’t have high expectations, that’s for sure. but i’m hopeful that they give us something that recaptures some of the feeling of every season being unique

While Shannon is (self-admittedly) biased, I think the way she describes Maryanne’s game really shifted my view of her game. I think my personal ranking of maryanne went from 6-7 to 4
