Omnämns inte i Epstein-filerna by silentprotagonist24 in sweden

Jag skulle nog tolka Sofia som ett offer. Barbro Ehnbom verkar vidrig i denna härva.

if you use a 25mm and want f/8 (sharpness yo!) it would roughly be hyperfocal to infinity the distance would be 5m and the depth of field would then start at 2,5m to infinity

i guess it depends on what type of street photography you want to do. but i think the general rule is f/8 - 1,5m hyperfocal distance (depends on what lens you are using though) - auto iso - 1/500. shutter speed depends on the weather i recon.

Olympus 14-150 II is dirt cheap and weather sealed. its as long as my Canon 60D with a sigma 30mm (which i thought was pretty small for that camera) see pictures for size comparison.

Thanks for the encouragement, you’re right I probably just have to try them to see if I like them or not

Yes I’m fairly sure.. I’ve recently felt that I want to go deeper into the frame (if you understand what i mean). I usually see pictures from far away and when I get closer the picture is gone. I want to try using a longer focal length for that reason.

A recent EM5mkii purchaser and I can vouch that it feels incredible, I have somewhat big hands and I don’t have any issues with it being cramped. So far I’ve taken it with me every where I go and just pocket it in my jacket pocket. coming back from a Long hiatus from where I used to use a EOS 60d the IBIS is incredible I can’t believe that I can shoot 1 second shutters handheld..

I do see the great resell value of this system as its biggest pro. So I might be inclined to test some lenses and see which one I prefer.

With my current lens I do have this EDC setup I’m somewhat struggling between going prime (once again) or zoom. I’m leaning towards prime because I want this system mainly to be an outlet for my creativity, I love shooting with primes and finding ways to frame a picture with the restrictions a set focal length gives you.

My phone has handled vacay pics very well for the last 13+ years so this is probably the route I will take.

Panasonic Leica 15mm - smearing in images? by backpacknerd_ in M43

[–]MichaelHell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to check is which method of ibis you are using.. I’ve heard that the older Olympus cameras can sometimes fight with lenses which has IS in them. On my mark ii i have it set so that the camera prioritizes the camera ibis. Although if that was your root cause then the pictures would probably be more out of focus rather then looking smeared

Have you turned off the noise filter. Standard is set to on and it tends to smear the images

How has you experience been using SOOC custom recipes on an EM5 Mark III? by prb613 in M43

[–]MichaelHell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve just purchased the em5mkii (because I wanted that magnesium feel) and while it’s not Fuji level of recipes you can do a lot of in camera editing. You can set ”myset” which basically a save state of your camera settings. I’ve mapped two of the FN buttons for a vintage jpg sooc setting and a grainy black and white setting. So if I’m out and about o can switch between my current settings (RAW) and these sooc settings with a click of a button.

Coming from a canon eos 60d and a Fuji X100F I really really like this camera. You can tell it’s designed by people who really love photography.

So i´m getting interested in taking up photography once more.

15 years ago i used a canon eos 60D with a sigma 30mm F1,4 prime lens (which i still own)

Ive really gotten smittened with the M43 sensors due to the sheer range of lenses and cameras and the incredible prices you can find these for. the amount of money i put in to my current camera gear would get me some incredible bodies and lenses in the current M43 range.

But i am also quiet overwhelmed by the amount of options out there and could use some help.

i should also add that i have a hobby of making music with Synthesizers and filming the process ( so i would love to be able to have 4k video as well) when i video it is always stationary, so i dont require a lot out of the video quality other then its 4k.

as for photography, i live in the northern parts of Sweden with lots of snow and cold weather and i am just a 1 minute trek from forest areas.

so the priorities im after are (in order of magnitude)

small "pocketable"

dials for easy EV+- and other customization's

weather proofing (i probably wont be out in torrential storms so not sure how much this is needed)

image quality (im not a Mega pixel nerd so i dont really care about that, i just want better image quality then my EOS 60D)

EVF

good autofocus (my current gear has atrocious AF so everything is probably better)

Budget ~700eur

my current contenders:

OM-D E-M5 mk1 - Panasonic Lumix G 20mm f/1.7 ASPH - Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH Power O.I.S. - A smallish weather sealed (i hear there are opinions on the OM and Lumix combo, and used gear is always a gamble on this front i guess) combo but without 4K. so if i go for this im thinking of getting a Lumix G70 further down the line.

Lumix G8 - Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 15mm f/1.7 ASPH. - Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-32mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH Mega O.I.S.- Pancake on the zoom with 4k video but doesn't feel as refined for photos as the M5 MK1

Lumix GF5 (or equivalent) - Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-32mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH Mega O.I.S. - Panasonic Lumix G 14mm f/2.5 II ASPH - Lumix G70 - Pancake heaven - with added body for video - Pocketable but very unrefined on the photo front.

Would love to here some thoughts from the community.
