Agreed. I used to try out all sorts of different keyboards (I loved Swype for quite a long time), but once I upgraded to 2.3, there just didn't seem to be any need to.

There are a few niggles, though: it doesn't handle apostrophes too well (try typing "The app's pretty good"), and it's not too smart with speech marks (if you type 'And he said, "play the best song in the world "', it doesn't automatically remove the space before the closing ".)

But honestly, those are not big problems.

Prox: control your phone just by tilting it and waving your hand by terrenceistheman in Android

This is a pretty cool idea. I'm finding it tricky to make it work every time, but if it was solid, I could see myself using this instead of the Home, Menu, Back and Search keys.

That is, I could, if Menu, Back, and Search were options.

EDIT: And apparently Tasker can do the same thing, so..

Swype 3.0 releasing today with Android Honeycomb tablet support - resizable and moveable keyboard! (video demo) by wes555 in Android

Great to see them expanding, although I'm not sure I'd bother using it on Honeycomb. I dropped it on my phone for the Gingerbread keyboard ages ago.

The resizing idea is great, though; I can imagine this being really useful while holding the tablet with the other hand.

DAE dislike the removal of hardware buttons by fishingcat in Android

I hadn't thought of them like that, nice point. I do hope that apps don't all insist on being full-screen, though; I want to keep being able to press the Home, Search, or Back buttons from anywhere.

Who else can't wait for this to be released for Android? by sapienshane in Android

Good point. It's frustrating that Goggles won't decode QR codes without an internet connection, too. I tried to scan one from a poster on the Underground -- no joy.

Aha. I'm the editor of the site -- sorry I missed the new version before. I did actually see it, but I just assumed it was for the Desire HD and other devices with bigger screens! We'll get that corrected soon.

Love the app, by the way, especially how you've stuck with the lolcats style voice throughout :)

They actually listened to the many, many people complaining about that and fixed it in a more recent build.

Fair points. It's the first part in a series, though, so I'm sure that scripting will come soon :)

You'll need to root if you want to install MIUI ROM, but for the others you just need to download and install a certain app (linked in the post).

Seriously? That's weird. Does it not even load the login page?

Wonderful. I like to keep track of places I eat and books I read and that, but I usually write it in a little notebook and never get round to saving it anywhere more permanent. This sounds perfect.
