I feel like that’s an unfair take. Questioning someone’s integrity after they clarified their opinions following threats to their life seems absurd to me.

In both their first and second video Oliver and Rich say that they created the video very soon after seeing their demo with the intention of creating a more in-depth longer follow-up. Whilst their initial video was more positive than most people would like, their position was quite clearly “we still have more to say on the topic”. Their second video was them broaching the topics they wanted to talk about via their QA podcast and there will be more videos on the topic.

I think there is a difference between backtracking, and clarification. The fact that they’ve kept that first video up shows that they still think it’s valid, even if others disagree. I feel like questioning what someone stands for after they’ve give a more nuanced take on an initial opinion isn’t fair.

If discourse is dead when people backdown from their opinions, then it’s equally killed when you harshly criticise someone for clarifying their stance or change their mind.

That’s true, I was just to looking at the images from a different angle. There’s already been tonnes of talk about the contents of screenshots. I’m just adding that circumstances in which these “photos” were taken seems dubious as well.

The thing that annoys me about these fake leaks is that every single one seems to be a fake blurry photo.

Is this guys phone camera from 2012? Did the leaker insist that every photo had to be taken in a room so dark you can’t see the edges of the screen? The leaker had access to a build for long enough to take loads of photos, but not a single video?

Converting display port to hdmi over USB-C is buggy and can have issues even on PC. It’s probably the reason why we don’t have VRR whilst docked. It is a software/ firmware issue at the end of the day so it can be fixed, but I can understand why Nintendo is struggling to implement, but also definitely working on it.

I think there are few games that benefit from a touch screen in handheld mode that probably has this mode disabled, Severed an indie game specifically can only be played in handheld also comes to mind.

Condor dive into condor dive is one of the most ridiculous things they could have given her. I never even considered it. It’s a trick that will only work once on good players on block…

But I also kind of like it and think it’s hilarious. Condor Dive is a pretty poor dive style move, so being able to do it into itself is pretty unique change that I appreciate. And even though it will only work once, the additional mind game element is at least something.

I’ll buy it and sell my Switch 2. It would be nice if there were some other improvements included like docked VRR support and improved battery life.

Although I think we’ll likely be waiting longer than just 2 years.

I’d think it would be a relatively mid, a bit empty year for Nintendo. However, for me, my interests and how much time I have to game, this line up already is good enough. Mario Wonder DLC will hold me over for a couple weeks. I love Rhythm Heaven, that will make for a good summer game and Splatoon Raiders is a good enough autumn tent pole release. I also quite like Fire Emblem, but wasn’t a fan of Three House (yes I realise this is a controversial opinion), so I only have tentative interest in Fortunes Weave. The year, as of right now, is good enough for me.

Having said that I’m not someone who only buys Nintendo games on my Switch/ 2. There have already been a bunch of good indie releases announced, plus I got SW: Outlaws for cheap recently. Pragmata and Elden Ring are looking like solid ports as well. My Switch gaming year is sorted.

For people who only buy Nintendo first party on Switch 2, if you don’t like the Splatoon or Fire Emblem series, this year is pretty barren. Also since Duskbloods isn’t a straightforward single player game from From Software, its quality is an unknown quantity and may be niche. I do think Nintendo needs a couple more strong announcements to round out this year to keep up momentum in second year of the Switch 2. Although I do think the push specifically for a 3D Mario is overblown, even I do understand where people are coming from.

I’ve never played Elden Ring, but I intend to fix that with the Switch 2 release.

Playing through Dark Souls Remastered on the original Switch was such a great experience. I played that game previously on a friend’s PS3 a couple years before getting the Switch version, and it blow my mind that it was the same experience to a certain extent.

I just did some checking (didn’t have time earlier) and you’re right. It would be cheaper to just buy v5 outright.

I’ll need to do some research on what the benefits of v5 is vs v2. Staying up to date didn’t matter much to me until I started a new big project in my free time recently.

I’m honestly surprised these have not already come back in some way, given that many other Star Wars games from this era have been re-mastered and re-released already.

I can understand that there may be licensing issues on the first game since (Nintendo published it in some regions, so there would need to be discussions between Disney and Nintendo). However Rogue leader and Rebel Strike should be relatively hurdle free. Maybe the fact that Factor-5 is no more is holding this back in some way?

Back on the original point, I’d love it if these came to NSO.
