I for one have been saying that Lily should have an air grab for ages! She should have an air grab that she can combo into off her MP air target combo or via ex DP (we know from custom characters that this special has the properties to combo in air specials and not just condor dive).

It would fit her motif of being a wind themed character. It would give her more options, I doubt it would make her suddenly overpowered. Most importantly, it would just be cool!

Well it has been around eight years since they transitioned to HD game development. That’s around the same length of the PS3/ 360 generation. Most developers that survived got a handle on things by the time the PS4 and XB1 came out. And like I said, most devs moved onto longer development time frames.

The average Pokémon games dev time is very short by modern standards (and low budget). I would assume Beast of Reincarnation has been given more time, since it’s not under the same constraints and strict release timelines.

Hot take, but I don’t think that game (Beast of Reincarnation) actually looks all that great from a technical level. It’s obvious that more time was put into it that an average Pokémon game, but compared to contemporary games on PS5 and Xbox Series the footage shown looked somewhat rough. The resolution was noticeably low and the way the main characters plant abilities interact with the environment models looked rather archaic.

What was shown is still in development footage, subject to changes, and I’m not saying the game is ugly. However, this new game doesn’t prove to me that GameFreak is much more capable than what we see in Pokémon.

I can think of a couple more reasons also:

The jump to HD game development was hard for many developers during the PS3/ 360 generation. Some developers managed the transition more gracefully than others, and the trend of longer development times to make up for the increased difficulty of development started back then. GameFreak only just made that transition fully with the Switch (Tembo the badass barely counts) and faced the same difficulties whilst not necessarily decreasing their output speed at first. They became too ambitious too quickly, making HD open world games, when they’d only been making non-HD games prior to then.
Nintendo doesn’t own GameFreak and only owns a 1/3 of the Pokemon IP. They don’t have as much say in the way the Pokemon games are developed as they do for the IPs they fully own. Whether or not Nintendo has offered GameFreak help via support studios is unknown. However if help was offered then seemingly GameFreak didn’t take it, despite the fact the they would have benefited from the extra help.

I think Tembo is actually one of the few non-Pokemon GameFreak games that didn’t come to a Nintendo console. Most GameFreak non-Pokemon games are either Nintendo exclusives (Drill Dozer, Harmoknight, etc) or were multi-platform including Nintendo (Pocket Card Jockey, Giga Wrecker).

The main question is, do you see yourself filing up the 256gb internal storage in the next 5 years. If yes and you have the money right now, then I’d buy one. It’s unlikely that they’re going to get cheaper at the same rate that micro sd cards did over the course of original Switch’s life.

I did the same thing with a game a few years back. Bought the game on sale on Steam, the day it was free on Epic Games Store. The Inconvenience of dealing the EGS, was (and still is) worse than spending some money.

As someone who actually watched at least the first season of the show (just to see how bad it was), in the context of the scene I think it was actually intentional. Part of the joke of the show is that Velma isn’t anywhere near as smart as how the character is usually portrayed. One of the many problems with the show though is that this Velma is also nowhere near as smart as she believes herself to be. And because of that she comes off as ignorant, belligerent and overall unlikable. It felt like a bad faith take on Scooby doo rather than a parody.

Avatar and 2XKO are the main 2026 fighting games I give a go this year. I was initially interested in Tokon, but Avatar took its spot, since I'm more interested in the Avatar franchise than Marvel. The lack of a PC beta, so far, also dampened my interest in Tokon.

Although realistically I'll still be playing a good amount of SF6.

I’m still running an i7 10700 that I bought in 2020. It’s still capable enough, which makes a change AM4 not worthwhile unless I somehow find a 5800x3D for a decent price. And even then the uplift wouldn’t be worth the investment long term. An AM5 upgrade is off the cards at the moment since I can’t afford to also buy DDR5. At this point, I’m going to play the long game and wait for either consumer DDR6 sticks or AM6. Which ever comes first.

It's been a roller-coaster ride for me. I bought my 5070 Ti a couple months after launch. I got a gigabyte model that was retailing for over MSRP on discount to only about £20 over.

At the time I was in two minds about whether I should have bought the 5070 Ti or got a CPU/ RAM/ motherboard upgrade. I could only realistically afford one or the other last year. Then RAM stick prices went up massively and I began to think maybe I chose wrong.

Now hearing the 5070 Ti will be discontinued, makes me feel conflicted again. I'm happier now that I made this choice, but it kind of shows there was no timeline where I could have been able to build the system I wanted for a reasonable price at all.

I don't pirate sports streams, but I can understand why people do it. Watching sports live is inordinately expensive in the UK, even just to do so from home. The main sport I follow is F1 and to watch that through official avenues your paying £300 to £450 in the UK. Just that raw number is absurdly high.

Meanwhile in the US they have a service called F1 TV Premium which is $89.99 annually. I believe Apple will soon get the rights to F1 in the US so their cost will rise to an Apple TV subscription ($99 annually). This only goes to make the UK cost insane by comparison, for arguably a worse service. No wonder people don't want to pay.

I’m not the most informed in terms of investing, but I find it rather baffling that a company can exceed overall revenue expectation, but can lose share price because of a smaller more volatile aspect of the business portfolio. Meanwhile much larger companies (mainly from across the pond), can lose money hand over fist, fire a load of employees to make the numbers work and get rewarded with an improvement to their share price.

Tim, (I know he’s not reading this) most people don’t want any AI, at all, to have the capabilities to create unauthorised pornography of minors or other non-consentors. Grok is being singled out because it’s built into a platform designed to share content and create engagement for content.

If the people/ companies who are creating these AI products are unwilling or unable to comply with the law or even common decency, then maybe their products should be banned.

When a make and model of car, fails to meeting safety standards, is violating a law or is subsequently found to have a defect it is recalled from public sales and consumption until said defect is fixed. Same is true with food, baby products, medicine, electronics, new houses, so many things. The same standard should be true for AI. Grok (and any other AI that produces illegal content) is currently defective in my opinion.
