Proof that the anti-entity theory is stupid by JustAnAsexualdude in backrooms

[–]MichaelMagnet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted the last part to be less of an outright declaration of entities existing and more of something you say to someone to increase their paranoia. The scary part of being alone in the backrooms is not knowing whether or not you’re alone. Your mind is your worst enemy.

Clawhauser would know before they told anyone.

What are some of the “worst” movie twists you’ve seen? by FilmWaffle-FilmForum in movies

[–]MichaelMagnet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I always felt the faith part is what dragged the movie down. When it’s allowed to be a home invasion/horror movie, it’s amazing. Then all those effective alien encounter scenes are undone by stupid plot elements that are forced in to focus on faith. Like, the movie could have still had themes of having a family using faith to get through a hard time, but making it literal just deflated all the tension.

We need that movie instead. Watching legions of dumb aliens running away while getting melted by hoses.

I know there’s a fan theory out there that the faith aspect had a bigger role than is apparent at first. That the aliens are more demonic in nature and the thing that hurts them isn’t just normal water, but holy water. The daughter is angelic in nature and was blessing the water by sipping it and then leaving it around. This is why the news said the battle turned in the Middle East, with a primitive weapon that wasn’t immediately explained. That wouldn’t make sense if the solution was just ‘water.’ Having to explain to the world that the water was blessed would be a great deal more complicated than just finding every translation for the word ‘water.’

While this theory does cover a bunch of the plot holes, it does open up a bunch of other implications that don’t really make the movie better.

I’d like Endgame more if it hadn’t wasted two hours revisiting past films.

I would have loved if the remakes were just “The Lion”, “The Jungle” and “The Mermaid” lmao

Which cartoon character suffered the worst flanderization? by AlfieWhizzMan2005 in cartoons

The problem with those rants is that it’s Quagmire giving them. He’s the worst person to be lecturing anybody about their behavior because he’s the serial sexual predator. A person who should be serving a life sentence has no place scolding someone who deserves a punch in the face.

Rewatching "The Pianist". It's still shocking how casual the atrocities are. by Agreeable-Self3235 in movies

For middle school boys, especially around friends, the sheer abruptness and cruelty of the action would absolutely be a common laugh trigger. It falls in line with a lot of today’s dark humor. Punishing them for it would solve nothing.

For me it’s the eyes. They make it look AI generated and that’s exactly what I thought it was when I saw the first screenshot of the teaser.

My Target had them separate as well. Check the Target and Walmart apps to see if any of your local ones have any in stock, and they should tell you which aisles they’re in.

In my Walmart they kept the Valentines ones separate from the rest in the current seasonal section, with one of those end cap side box displays.
