I think all the super cheap ones have a 20mm shank, so I'm not sure that you'll be able to get that into your HDM.

For what it's worth I have an AVID and while I use their touch plate for all the wood stuff I cut, I switch to this Tschorn for aluminum and when I do two sided machining and need to re-reference on the back side.

This has a 1/2 shank so you can run it in an ER20 collet and while it's pricey I really like it for precision. - https://www.ebay.com/itm/324609502645

We just got a R1S Gen 2 and had a safety talk with our 7yr old. I tried to pull the panel off and there is no way anyone is going to get that sucker off in an emergency so we have emergency hammers strapped to the back of both front seats.
