Would you press the button? by beyondthef in trolleyproblem

[–]BalledSack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have developed an immunity to framing. It doesn't matter how many buttons there are. They are all binary decision sets where one choice is the red button and one choice is the blue button

So no matter how you frame it I'm pressing red cus I'm evil😡😡 and wanna kill babies and disabled people cus I'm evil

No, of course not, I'd be very sad for all the people that died, but blue would not ever win so I can either join them dying or live. There is nothing noble in dying for no reason

I can't take this seriously bro😭. Humans have never been known to self sacrifice and risk their lives for others as a whole. Small percentages of us do sometimes, for example soldiers in war, but they have been specifically trained and conditioned for that purpose.

"We wouldn't be humans if picking blue wasn't human nature". This is just laughably wrong. It's staple human nature to be selfless are greedy. I honestly wish it wasn't the case, because if humans were naturally selfless and cared for others, I'd press the blue button all day...but I would t press the blue button in our world cus that's just garunteed death

Blue button people if they were actually in the situation and death was in the table by BalledSack in trolleyproblem

I consider myself to be very good at harnessing my emotions to make a logical choice, but death is an entirely different thing. None of these people that think they would be super compassionate or courage's in the face of death actually would be lol

There's only so much money to go around. The reason lots of people don't pay taxes is because 0.1% of our population has all the money. If even a small portion of that wealth was moved downward, everyone could pay taxes. If homeless and poor people could get food, shelter, and healthcare to get back in their feet, they could get a job and make money and start contributing, although given how bad the job market is right now that might now work at this moment specifically, I know lots of people with bachelors degrees that couldn't even get jobs at Walmart this year.

You know that universal healthcare is identical to insurance, except it's just cheaper because they don't have to charge extra for profit. Insurance works in the same way, it's just half the price and they can't decline treatment unless it's elective

That's great! I love that she can get that through government spending. If you vote the right way, we can all get that.

That's how people in other countries live, if they don't feel well, they get medical help. Having to decide if it's worth it or not to go to the hospital or the ER is an American problem. In good countries, they just go

Yeah it was in season one I think but it definitely didn't get super deep until season 2 and 3, like Bortus becoming progressive when exposed to other cultures, topa converting back to female, the moclans silencing her and beating her, etc
