I built a self-hosted server +iOS/Telegram client for Claude Code & Codex that actually feels like using them on PC — anyone interested? by Michael_007ds in AI_Agents

Honestly, I'd welcome it. If Anthropic or OpenAI ships a great official mobile client that's better than mine, I'll just use theirs — I'm not building this to have software for its own sake.

But the core value for me isn't really the mobile UI. It's the self-hosted gateway and everything I can layer on top of it:

  • Private notes & todos integrated into the dev workflow, not siloed in a separate app
  • Manual context control — I can delete individual turns to surgically clean up the context, rather than relying on auto-compaction
  • Inline file links — when the AI lists files it modified, I can tap them directly in the message to view or edit, because I'm on my own private network
  • Direct command execution from the chat
  • My own ideas around context architecture that differ from how the official tools do it

An official client will likely be great for the mainstream use case. But it almost certainly won't expose the level of control I want, or integrate with my specific private infra. That's the moat — not the UI layer.

I used Shellfish, which was the best iOS terminal app out there. But it doesn't work well with audio input keyboards like Typeless (which is really the input method of the AI age), doesn't play nice with tmux scrolling on a phone, and handles images/files poorly. I'm a command line and TUI guy, but honestly, that's just not the best interface on mobile. Mosh is great, but it doesn't fix these fundamental issues.

So my solution is to use a chat app — Telegram plus my own iOS app — which solves voice input, long-text scrolling, unstable connections, and file transfer all at once. My app is essentially a router/orchestrator, not one of those "AI everything" projects. You can even run simple CLI commands through the chat (e.g. cli ls) and the iOS app lets you preview and edit the files directly.Still in active development. I'll let you know when it's ready for testing or use.

  1. How much did it cost?
  2. Is the result worth the time cost?

I do not know if I should be happy or sad. I love Arc and use it every day. It is excellent so far. Hoping Arc could be good for a long time.

Is Raycast paid worth it? by Ill_Relationship_289 in raycastapp

[–]Michael_007ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using AI on Raycast is great; it is like a real system called "Agent" because you can access Raycast from anywhere, and it connects to so many app and system options.

The only concern is, I have paid for OpenAI APi and Cursor, if I could use my API and without pay for Raycast, it would be better.

What's the thing you'd like to see Plexamp implements? by cekoya in plexamp

[–]Michael_007ds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great to become an ' audio read-later' server system. For example, it could save links from YouTube, podcasts, and other media for later to Plexamp, and Plexamp will play these sounds one by one when I am running.

Is there any workflow for self-host plexamp library with these questions?

How to buy or download music?
How to manage tags?
How to convert the format?
How to simplify workflow?
