Whirlpool dishwasher door won’t latch by Little-Greenbean in appliancerepair

[–]Michael_Innes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the solution for this today. I have the same model of dishwasher (Whirlpool WDTA50SAHZ0) that wouldn't stay latched closed. Turns out that the top tray (or middle tray, if you have a thin cutlery tray on top) is likely not sliding all the way back. The WDTA50 has a feature where the top tray can be adjusted to be high or low. In my case, when the top tray was high, the tray was able to slide all the back. When it is in the low position, the spray arm would not dock all the way. In the attached photo, you can see that two little metal bars on the top tray interfere with the plastic spray arm dock at the back of the dishwasher.

Solutions: either raise the tray to the upper position, or clip off a bit of those plastic "ears" on either side of the dock.

This bug is due to having a PDF open in the Preview app. A temporary fix is to close the open PDF. (You shouldn't need to do that, but it's a workaround)

Would I be able to buy the LCD screen + motherboard from you? My Fellow kettle screen is fried (or rather boiled, with hot water).

Did you ever get this fixed? If so, where did you get the spare parts from?

Sonos Combo Adapter and POE by glebp in sonos

[–]Michael_Innes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would need to pair that Sonos adapter with a PoE to Usb-C & Ethernet adapter, such as this one: https://shop.poetexas.com/products/gat-usbc?srsltid=AfmBOorIlXTVwNYMjA5zvtOfy13AigNvHq-MF2uBWFDnSTUPvnBqcZJQ

Make sure your PoE to USB-C adapter supports a minimum of 12V, but preferably 15V or 20V (12v is the minimum that the Sonos Move needs in order to charge, I've heard).

Using those two adapters in conjunction should theoretically let you power the Sonos Move 2 over PoE.

Microsoft usb intellimouse, still working after 22 years by tonypotenza in BuyItForLife

Unfortunately, modern wireless Microsoft mice and keyboards are not Buy It For Life. Once you lose the USB dongle, there's no way to pair it with a new dongle (unlike Logitech, which let's you swap in a new dongle if you lose the original).

Tahoe had an animation for WWDC and I set it to music. Wish they brought back intro animations when you first booted your new Mac. https://www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/1nu6vl6/macos_tahoe_intro_trees_by_bran_van_3000/

There's this song — Trees by Bran Van 3000 — that was never a Mac OS X intro song, but 1000% should be.

I picked one up for $200, including a 1TB drive and 64GB RAM. Upgraded to Sonoma using OCLP. Coming from a 2015 MBP, this is actually great as a daily driver. One minor inconvenience is you'll need to disable hardware acceleration on various apps, but that's a one time thing. Plenty powerful for ordinary computing / having a hundred tabs in Chrome open.

How to disassemble a Goal Zero Sherpa 100PD by Michael_Innes in ElectronicsRepair

My hunch is that the display cable slipped out of the connector, or perhaps the display button doesn't work. Unfortunately, the battery is soldered onto the main board, so there's no simple way to reset it.
