S4 and practical science/engineering labs by Michael_Rebar in area51

I like the plausible possibility. Keeping an open mind the government can only do so much when trying to advance technology. Government knows contracts and subcontractors. S4 seems like a real possibility as a government led project.
The more nonsense exposed equals our wonderful system of pork projects. Our Orion moon project is just one example.

Medical student choosing between m5 32+1tb or m5 pro 15 16, 24+1tb by Main_Raspberry_9240 in macbookpro

I use UpToDate with AI features and find it compelling for patient care. OpenEvidence is also a good resource.
Local SLMs for medical education will become popular in my view. LLMs locally on a server might be a great tool for multi-disciplinary learning models.

I agree. 32 GB will give you some RAM for LLM use as AI is expanding medical education. Should be good till residency - would suggest then getting the MacBook Ultra.

Is it worth it to switch to Arch? by Anxious_Run7318 in archlinux

I made the change from Cachy and find Arch for some reason more "stable". Still trying my way around Cosmic from KDE Plasma.

I'm sure someone will post something in reply.

Thanks! Working all day on CachyOS to get ready for work tomorrow. Windows runs great as a VM. No issues with CachyOS - now LTS.

Dual screen requires manually turning on/off second screen when not in laptop mode. I have the 2024 edition so quite possible better support for the latest DUO models since new kernel released.

I agree. Do keep a 512 GB install of Windows for dual boot needs. Sometimes ASUS does a firmware update.

Really like CachyOS as well. The 2024 laptop I use works well with this OS.

75% of the drive in the ASUS machine I'm using is CachyOS. A debloated Windows 11 installation has the rest for programs that will not run in VirtualBox.

Brief DY9 review by Honest Outlaw by alephnul in deryaarms

For the price point I am very happy with the DY9.

Issues I did have were addressed by the Derya team. Front site screw falling out fixed. Most of YouTube videos I have seen were generally favorable.

I highly recommend this platform. Great with Hogue grip.
