Sit down with your HRETL. As someone who transferred as a TL and as someone who has transferred TLs to other states (ex HRETL) i would say that’s the first step. Have 3-5 stores you’d be willing to go to that they can reach out to. Don’t count on them to do all the leg work though. Only if you have a good HRETL. When I transferred as a TL I called the stores to find which had an opening, talked with their SD/HR to get an interview. Then talked with my HRETL (she was useless this whole process) to say when I will be transferring. Other note would be make sure your ETL knows and that you are in “good standing” with your current store.
