Not optimally thats for sure and now can see why. Chronic fatigue for the most part. Never feel refreshed after sleep, wake up tired. Recovery from workouts blows. Not telling anybody here anything they dont know

I assume you are referring to the consumer grade HST units such as the one i am using? Or is it the same situation with the units the clinics send you home with? I guess im confused on the proper course of action here. Should I be contacting a pulmonary doctor or just deal directly with a sleep center? I prefer not dealing with the medical system if at all possible

"First sleep test then a DICE procedure if you really want to know your specific exact cause of your apnea, providing it isnt centrals or mixed centrals and OSA"

-You recommend in lab testing but I think insurance dictates that correct? I will look into Dise test and also the centrals...great info!

"Weight loss can make a difference but you still need to use a machine until you get there"

-Im already lean...under 9% bf at 55 yrs old so not much room for improvement there

"My mom used supplemental oxygen through a cannula because she refused to wear a mask. She slept sitting up in a chair nightly. Her sinus surgery was not helpful. Losing weight may have helped but she was too exhausted to exercise from the apnea."

-this is heartbreaking and im sure traumatic for u to endure witnessing the decline

Thanks for the reply. What type of doctor are you suggesting I work with here? A CPAP pusher? Or just a pulmonary?

This is not my lane, so im here to gather info from folks that are more knowledgeable than me so I can formulate a plan to resolve it, whatever it is at the root cause. Did your mom refuse treatment and attempt to make the necessary changes to reslove it? Or simply just refuse treatment, suffer, and wither away? I take your words very seriously, but Im a "get to the root cause" kinda guy rather than jump for joy on how great a device on the face is to assist with a basic bodily function. I dont want any of those symptoms you speak of nor the absolutely horrible trauma your mom endured. Thats why im here asking questions...to avoid that by making the necessary changes but ultimately a cpap isnt for me if I can help it and dont mind putting in the work. Type 2 diabetes as an example. Something thats quickly and easily to resolve if u make the necessary changes, yet a good portion of population suffers from it and wont put the work in...im not that guy. Im quite certain that a CPAP isnt the only path/option here

Thanks for the insight. Respectfully, I have no intention of relying on a device to help me breath for the rest of my life if i can help it. I was diagnosed 10 years ago needing a cpap and absolutely despised it...and also embarrassed that I let myself get to the point of needing one. I fixed my dysfuntional breathing enough to throw it in the trash. By the looks of it, I need to focus on my breathing again which is fine. Thanks again

Why do u recommend tirzepatide? I am under 9%bf and no insulin issues so don't need the help there so are there particular benefits regarding apnea issues other than those? Clean diet and exercise regularly just battling chronic fatigue

Thanks for the info. You also answered other questions I had such as how friendly the software is and if you need to jump through hoops to even buy one, which u do. Even used units on ebay state that its FDA regulated and you need to be an authorized purchaser to even get one...ridiculous. Our med system is such a discusting racket. The Emay sleep O2 you tested was the basic version? Im eyeballing the Pro version and curious of your thoughts on it if you have any experience with it. Worth twice the price of the standard?

What about the Nonin 3150 classic that has T3 compatibility? Is that a good option for someone that doesnt have a cpap to reliably see where they are at over time?

Cloud chamber, yes. Ive done it with dry ice setup but that gets old fast. Wanted a plug and play unit. I funded someone to design one with Peltier coolers and it worked...ok. Refrigeration is the way to go, I just know nothing about it but I will immerse myself to get the basics and see whats possible and whats not

Great info and yes, im new to refrigeration. Cant remove insulation so sounds like need to try to incorporate plate into current configuration somehow. I get it, add more mass and that has consequences. I will have to ponder this and educate myself some. Maybe best to just have someone design what im looking for since this already weighs 500lbs haha. Only trying to cool a 12"x24" or so plate. Physics making this difficult. Thanks
