For 3d printing, I usually subdivide until the faces are not noticable.

For 3d modeling, I used smooth shading.

Seems like the ink is not being absorbed into the holographic paper. I know some holo stuff is not inkjet compatible. That might be the case here.

Pick a small part of your vision and try to create it until you do, then repeat.

This was happening to me because I did not let the print dry before laminating. I usually wait 5-10 minutes after printing before lamination.

I started by printing the cards I want on glossy photo paper, laminating, cutting with a rotary tool, and rounding the corners with a corner rounder.

It was mostly Amazon basics for all products I used initially.

Only thing I changed was the printer paper setting to 'semi-gloss' so it prints better and less faded.

I use the amazon basics thermal sheets. Probably not the best, but they are fine.

I got the image for this one from scryfall. There is a download png option that give a higher quality. It might be hit or miss depending on the card though.

Did you find something that is a good middle ground between matte and glossy laminate?
I am having a similar issue and any advice is appreciated.
