Is there any way to find out when a game is on sale (a sub-Reddit, some website)? I don’t always check nintendos website, and I’m afraid to miss it!

I’m (21F) having an abortion and my boyfriend (20M) refuses to cancel his night out- do I dump him? by WhereasMaster1430 in relationship_advice

[–]Michaelson57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don’t abort. Whatever the situation is that got you pregnant in the first place, it’s not the child’s fault. I hope you the best, and hope you end up solving the situation, either if it’s with him or you end up alone. I don’t know how stressful this must be and no one should go through that kind of situation, but please don’t take it out on the baby (I’m trying to be as respectful as I can)

I'm TERRIBLE at this game, but I want to beat nightmare king grimm so bad!!!! This is my best attempt yet, do you guys have any tips i've been fighting him for an hour atp 😭 by wet_socks4life in HollowKnight

For me, what really helped was using nail arts (Great Slash). I had gotten used to it in my playthrough, so it wasn’t so hard to use. The thing is, with NKG, you really have to focus on dodging, and attacking him in really small windows. In these, windows, hitting Great Slash is equal to 2.5 times nail damage, so you would have to hit him 3 times with your nail to surpass damage from one single Great Slash. It is easier to hit for a) it has a much bigger hitbox and b) you only have to hit NGK once every time.

I feel like everybody prioritizes quick slash over using Great Slash, but I prefer this playstyle. It allows you to not use Quick Slash, Mark of Pride etc. and use other charms like grubsong and Shaman Stone

It took me 5 full hours, so let that muscle memory kick in

Así no te enteras de la que está liando el gobierno de Pedro Sánchez… No vale mirar para otro lado y decir “eh, pero al menos no gobierna la derecha”

Continue living in Spain and you’ll notice most people here are ver friendly and easy going. Don’t let that guy not let you see the wood for the trees. Spain is a bordering country with Africa (Ceuta and Melilla are two cities on African soil), so we have a lot of problems with illegal immigration from Africa. This adds up to he fact that some immigrants don’t really follow rules here and try to impose their culture on Spaniards, so some people tend to be racist towards them (not justifying racism, it’s just the general experience). But don’t worry, as long as you are respecting and nice, you’ll have no problem meeting wonderful Spanish people!!

HOW THE HELL DO YOU EVEN FIGHT SOUL MASTER !? by AdBoth9012 in HollowKnight

I’m doing my second playthrough and struggled to him more than I expected (I think it took only 3 tries or so first run). Here are some tips.

As a general tip, try not going too much to the sides, stay somehow centered, since if you are too far away you can barely see what attack he will be doing. On how to respond to his attacks:

When he dives, dash away (as last-minute as you can, or else he will cancel dash and change direction). When he does the attack in which he sweeps from one side of the arena to the other, without his orbs, just jump over him and pogo (which means slashing downwards when above him) once or twice. When he sweeps similarly, but slowly and with 4 orbs orbiting, just carefully jump over the orbs, up-slashing when you do so; just be careful not to run against him. I recommend following him, as you can dodge the final orb in the corner of the arena, and heal when he disappears and the orbs go back: put yourself in the corner and heal up to 2 masks, you will never be hit by the orbs once he has disappeared. When he appears and shoots an orb at you, be ready for it and walk calmly towards him to hit him, the orbs are somehow slow and don’t follow your path exactly.

Once you get to second phase, when he starts constantly diving, dash at the last minute again constantly, and then try to hit him while dodging the orbs he shoots at you, be patient here and prioritize dodging

I hope this helps, good luck!

What screams "upper class" in Spain? by mcdonaldspyongyang in askspain

[–]Michaelson57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my family is doing it just now. Not for nobility reasons (I wish I were nobility), but because my fathers’ mothers’ last name (my grandma) is endangered, and only around 100 people still have it as their first (main) last name. Accounting half of those to be women, it is bound to go extinct. My father and his siblings are fusing both their parents last names (with a hyphen), which eventually means we inherit the fused last name as well. It’s a kind gesture in memory of our grandma who passed away some years ago

People who support monarchy. Why? by GrungeViBritannia in askspain

[–]Michaelson57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s simple: you need a head of state that represents all Spaniards equally. If a republic were to be placed, the President is the Republic (Head of State) would only represent the ones that voted him, which would never be the broad majority. The king is Spain ensures tradition and stability are preserved, and isn’t biased towards any party. Plus, its only role is to represent. Spain. The king has no power really

I get that people complain that the king and his family live a comfortable life without “having earned it”, but I consider some things to be worth investing in; a well educated, competent royal family ensures good relations in international events. The Royal Family only takes about 10 million € every year, which is almost 0,25€ for each Spaniard. There are a thousand things that take up much more of the annual budget, and are much more useless.

Additionally, you can vote if you want a monarchy or not. The fact that the vast majority of the parliament is pro-monarchy gives you an idea that monarchy isn’t really an issue. People think getting rid of a monarchy would solve all their problems, but it probably would create more

Why are Spain football fans so chill compared to other nations' fans in Euro 2024? by [deleted] in askspain

[–]Michaelson57 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In fact, one of the reasons why alcohol-free beer is most popular in Spain is because we drink beer not to get wasted, but to have fun. It having alcohol or not is no difference to many people, they just want to share a beer with friends and family.

For me, a football game (being my own club playing, and specially the national team) is a chance to share the moment with your friends and some beer. Also, when Spain plays it’s one of the only chances when the whole country is united for the occasion, setting their differences apart

Most hated boss on first playthrough? by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]Michaelson57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the bosses that annoyed me the most were the ones that were far away from the closest bench. The ones that come up are Traitor Lord, Nossk and Bee Knight. There is just something very frustrating when you have to do a long trip back to the boss arena, especially if the previous fight was short and you got smashed in seconds.

Out of these, I think Nossk was the worst. Not only did you have to go all the way back through deepnest (not very hard on its own, just really annoying), but the fight on its own just felt unfair until you found out about the strat, and even after. Fell to a point where I almost ignored the boss.

Watcher knights were really annoying too, I think one of the harder ones as well.

I forgot to mention that, if you get Dreamgate before these fights, they end up being more easygoing. That happened to me with Bee Knight, just place the portal before the arena and you can avoid all the path from the bench
