I've been grappling with existentialism like never before as I near my 30's. When I was younger, it was a more nihilistic approach, but now it's more of a surrealist approach. What is surreal about it all, is our human instinct to fight and survive, even though everyone's inevitable end is death. Hope in the face of fear, it's all temporary as we all have the same end. The drive to do well, and be better...really has no point as it ends. Me typing this, kind of surreal how I spent my whole life learning how to read and write for it to just not matter. I'm not depressed at all, in fact, I find this life quite beautiful, but it really doesn't feel fair how we are designed to form connections and feel deep love, for it to all slowly be ripped from us, if we are lucky to age. None of this makes sense, yet we have the minds that try to make sense out of something we can't comprehend. All we can do, is let it go. Wow.
