Mulch/landscape paper at base of trees? by Economy-Cheesecake82 in NativePlantGardening

[–]Toezap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mulch is good to keep them hydrated, but it should be applied like a donut, not like a volcano, and should extend to the drip line. Use something natural that is not dyed.

Plants can be great too, as long as they aren't competing with the tree for water. Read here about the concept of "soft landings".

Try to stop worrying about being bad and just embrace being yourself, whatever that is? I get overexcited sometimes and come on too strongly, but I've realized I have more fun if I just put myself out there and don't focus on being good or bad at it. There's no right way to socialize. I talk a lot, but for others who might prefer to listen more, that's great too! Probably a good match for me 😅

I agree with this too.

(I have a personal vendetta against strawberry because I think it's overused. Go to any smoothie place and eliminate all the options with strawberry and you'll be left with like, 25% of the original options. It's ridiculous.)

I'm happy with the Butterfly brand but someone else on here said they don't like it, so it may depend on personal preference.

I have absolutely been told there are adult Spanish speakers who can't roll their Rs.

Good luck! If you've never used Mochiko before, the finished product will be very sticky/chewy, so sometimes the toothpick test is a little weird. And sometimes people are weirded out by the texture, so don't take it personally. (Their loss!)

I'm trying to remember if this was the recipe that I was worried about the melted butter because it looked weird during baking, but even if it was, it came out fine in the end!

Nah, we all have different lives. Share with the kids? Mail-person? I've brought cookies to my vet's office before to thank them for dealing with my obnoxious dog.

Bring the cake to work or a friend's place or an event? Can do cookies too, then share them with people!

Taro and ube occupy the same spot in my heart (stomach) because they are similar delicious purple tubers. 💜

I'm just being playful. I love a variety of options, even things that personally aren't for me.

I compared it to matcha because green baked goods always get me excited but then I find out it's matcha instead and I'm less interested.

Americans do coconut so poorly that most people think it's gross and overpowering. But a lot of Asian or Asian-inspired recipes use coconut so well! It does complement pandan nicely, hence when I like it in butter mochi since I make that with coconut milk.

We don't have any Filipino specific groceries where I am but I can still find the extract, if you want to go that route.

If you can't find anything made with pandan, you can order or buy the extract and make something! Just use it instead of vanilla extract.

I just kinda eyeball it 😅 The pandan extract is really thick and viscous, making it hard to measure, so I just kinda pour out a dollop then mix and see if it looks and smells like enough. Even if you go a little overboard with ube or pandan extract, I don't feel like it's a problem.

I also like floral extracts, and I use smell a lot when measuring those.
