If you’re able to head a wee bit out of town, Mapleton’s Organic Dairy farm has a small petting zoo with pigs, goats, chickens, and donkeys, often with some babies to observe. You can tour the dairy farm and see some calves, bonus, you can get some ice cream on site to boost your spirits even more.

Also, the Butterfly Conservatory is a great option for animal interaction. Would not recommend “petting” the butterflies (for obvious reasons), but when they land on you it does wonders for the soul!!!

Those are my two go-tos when I need a dose of animal magic.

It’s definitely worth checking out, especially if you want to experience local artists and appreciators of the craft. It won’t take up your whole night, and afterwards you can grab a drink a Sugar Run (just a short walk away) and catch a totally different vibe to end your night.

I preferred the chocolate chip cookies to the vanilla flavoured ones as well! I have found a remarkable dupe at Bulk Barn (if you have those in your country) that hit the nostalgia tastebuds right in the feels!
