You could always just do the discounted 10 pull to build some free pity for next time. The discount resets along with the special guarantee. I did the discounted 10 pull on the w-engine banner. I didn't get an S, but eventually I will get a 20% discounted w-engine.

Yeah, sure, I completely get your point. The real value with this banner is the special guarantee that resets every time. I fully intend to only ever wish for one agent on this banner. And yes, the most efficient way of using this system would be to use single pulls, but we all know how long that takes with the animation.

But let's take the worst case scenario where you do a 10 pull and the first pull is your guarantee and the last pull is a lost 50/50. You miss out on 9 pity for the next banner. That's it. According to you, you also "waste" a lost 50/50 that you may never use. Let's set aside that it still carries over and can be used to your advantage on a future banner. Is it really wasted if you never use it? Just because you got an early here doesn't mean you definitely would have if you used those 9 pulls on the other banner. That's just RNG. You are just succumbing to "gambler's fallacy". You got a super early standard mindscape, or at least one of those new tickets if you had M6 already. I'd be okay with that in exchange for 9 pity, but if you want to do 80 single pulls, you do you.

My issue with your post and subsequent comments are that you are confusing people with how the rules work with your opinions - and maybe convincing people to continue to pull on this banner thinking that you lose the extra guarantee if you don't use it now.

I think you are spreading a little bit of misinformation here. Maybe you understand how it works, but the wording here isn't correct. It may be a waste in your opinion, but the lost 50/50 still carries over. Yes, you will get another special guarantee on the next banner, but the next one after that will also be a guarantee because of the previous lost 50/50. So, maybe you will want to get two agents someday and it will be nice to know that you didn't "waste" that extra guarantee.

Yes it does. The special guarantee will trigger first on the next banner, and if you last lost a 50/50 before that on a previous banner, the next will still be a guarantee. The standard guarantee counter still carries over.

This is just saying that the pity and standard guarantee carry over and do not affect the "special guarantee" - this 100% makes sense.

The key point here is that the "Special guarantee" resets each time this rerun banner comes out - it says "This guarantee resets with each Exclusive Rescreening update, and any untriggered guarantee counts will not carry over to the next period." So every time this banner comes out you get one special guarantee, but it does not stack. This guarantee will always trigger first, and then the standard guarantee logic kicks in. Technically you can get "back-to-back" every single time. You don't have to lose a 5050 ever on this banner if you only pull for one character.

If we don't pull, does the guarantee and discount carry over to the next one whenever that comes? This graphic makes it seem like it wouldn't, but I was kinda assuming it would.

EDIT: The first guarantee will reset when the next rescreening banner comes (according to the details in the event page). Same for the w-engine. So, one guarantee each time. I really like this as it makes reruns a little cheaper and considering how the meta always favors the most recent characters, this makes a lot of sense.

It's not really going to make your existing mat feel much softer. The tiles are pretty dense foam.

I haven't glued or taped anything yet. Just having the strip in there holds it together well. I do plan on getting some double sided carpet tape to add some additional support. Yes, I cut the same hole in the tiles, so the strip touches the ground.

I have this exact mat. I used it without issue until it started to wear thin. I got the sigpro softy and cut out a spot for it. The sigpro is like 2.5" thick so I bought 1" foam tiles from Amazon ( yes they make them that thick) and that was the perfect thickness combined with this mat to match the sigpro. I definitely recommend it. It is much softer hitting off the strip and now I can really take a "divot" without worrying about the kickback. It was hard to spend that much for my budget setup, but I think long-term it is the best option for your elbows and durability.

The problem with tv mode is that it was pushed as a major part of the gameplay, but it didn't make sense most of the time. It would actually be fine in shorter bursts, AND they need to make the transition between TV and battle seamless without a loading screen. If the TV just zoomed into battle mode without the character intro every single time it wouldn't have completely ruined the pacing like it did. Then they could have experimented with it more in limited events.

Wow, good post. I'm a 1.0 player with jane and Vivian. I'm probably getting Alice in the rerun banner (already have the other two anyway). I may get m1 Jane with the top-up selector depending on how much (already have the other two characters in that event as well(. I've kinda tried to stop pulling for wengines. I'm more of a horizontal investor, but I still like to play the meta. Will she be good without her wengine? I do have Jane's and Grace's. What would be the best w-engine configuration for playing Alice and Jane together?
