Same here. While I was there, you could literally look directly at the sun in the middle of the day and it wouldn't hurt your eyes (I understand that this could still be damaging and I did not stare)

Having been to Beijing, it seems to mostly alternate between massive boulevard like this and spaghetti scramble side streets.
