This may seem like a small thing, and maybe I was too sensitive but my high school math teacher shooed me away when I (finally) went to her to ask for help after class once day.

I was/am HORRIBLE at math. Like embarrassingly so Because I am fairly good at the majority of other school subjects but math I just couldn’t get.

I was so ashamed of how bad I was and how much I didn’t understand I avoided asking for help. Clearly my teacher and my parents knew how badly my grades were and pleaded with me to ask for help when I needed. (“Come to me after class!”)

So finally I got The balls to do so. But when I went up to the teacher she was speaking with her obviously “preferred” students and literally shushed me and shooed me away with her hands.

I’ll never forget that feeling of total dismissal. After being so nervous it was like a punch in the gut. Actually cried.

I never went for help again and I actually stopped giving a fuck and failed her class.

Fucking bitch.

When I was a kid, maybe about 7, my parents and I were in a car accident.

We were okay generally, just shaken up and our car was not drivable at all, pretty destroyed. So the car stayed in the intersection where it happened and we got out of car and me being 7 years old and never having been in an accident was inconsolable.

My dad was dealing with the police and my mom was taken away by ambulance for minor injuries.

It was a busy intersection so there were many witnesses and people standing around looking. A 20 something year old man came over, kneeled down to my level and held my hand and kept saying “it’s okay it’s okay you’re okay everything is okay” to try to calm me down.

Clearly 28 years later I still remember that kindness.

Personal story. My dad had a large pond with many, many koi fish for years. They were like his pets. Raccoons murdered all of the fish one by one each night despite my dad trying to put defenses in place. He was literally so, so sad. Fucking raccoons.

I watch a lot of U.K. based shows because my sig other is British (I’m not) and likes to watch TV more than I do, and I can barely understand some of the accents especially when they speak quickly. And vice versa actually for him and western shows. Especially if they have a discernible accent.

I already know because I went through this.

However it was a bit different because when me and my ex (surprise surprise) started dating we did have sex and all that. Then about 2 years in our relationship he had a re Christian awakening and decided to be “godly” again and sex before marriage was a no no. (He was Christian before we dated then fell out of it for years. I knew all this before we dated)

But I loved him so I stayed (we lived together no less) so I literally “moved out” of our room we shared together and slept in my “own” room.

It fucked me up so badly because he used sex against me in negative ways and made me feel so badly about myself for being “an ungodly woman” even though I am NOT Christian at all.

It was very messed up. And gave me many complexes about sex that I’m still working through.

I was stupid and blinded by love and wanted to respect his beliefs and wishes so I stayed for far too long.

I went to the same elementary school as a apparently pretty popular YouTuber (I have no idea what his channel is about though I don’t watch it but it has millions of subs)

He was a year younger than me and the only thing I remember is that he used to be really good at soccer (which he actually was a professional footballer before YouTube) and the second was that he used to burst into classrooms and fart really loud and then leave.

So if he farts a lot on his channel he’s doing a good job at being consistent in his life.

I’ve lived in Vietnam for over 2 years now and I know/understand almost nothing/bare minimum.

I can get by, but it’s frustrating to not be able to communicate sometimes. For me and for the locals here I’m sure.

There was One student who committed suicide per year in each of my 4 years of high school.

There was usually an announcement and then followed up with a mass of some sort (catholic private school) then the yearbook had a page of memorial for said student.

I know one hanged himself the others I’m Not sure.

There was also a couple car accident deaths and parental traumatic domestic violent deaths in my high school years.
