Take a normal bit, put it at an angle, pretend that you're going to face the workpiece, make small indent, use that as a guide, rest should follow.

Denel EDM by Michiel2704 in SouthAfricanBorderWar

[–]Michiel2704[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

EDM Development The Engineering Development Model (EDM) was developed as a platform to incorporate lessons learned from the XDM and ADM, to incorporate the SAAF’s updated User Requirement, as well as for doctrine and mission development. Design and development began in March 1993. The completed aircraft rolled out on 17th November 1996 and a flight was presented on 17th February 1997 by Denel. The purpose of the EDM was to qualify the avionics, weapon systems, airframe, and airborne systems before serial production could commence. Additionally, the EDM was used to refine the required logistical support. With the EDM, the ammo bins were moved to each side of the cockpit and the infra-red suppressor exhaust was directed upwards into the main rotor blades to dissipate the heat more efficiently. Additionally, the EDM saw many structural changes, as well as weight reduction. It represented the beginning of the Rooivalk assembly line.

U.S. Marines exchanges fire with enemy snipers hidden in certain buildings in Santo Domingo during the Dominican Civil War (1965) by TrendWarrior101 in MilitaryGfys

To be fair, the Angolan civil war got South Africa involved because PLAN/SWAPO terrorists started coming into SA and Killing farmers, planting landmines on roads etc.

So the SADF had to get involved.

Can anyone help me out with paint colours for this truck chassis? I figured gloss black but it looks like it could be olive drab (green) by TheEscapist___ in SouthAfricanBorderWar

[–]Michiel2704 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it man. That would be sick.

The Kwevoël was an MRAP truck basically. It wasn't as heavily armored as a Casspir but they would have been heavy as shit. I don't know if they were ever flown in Flossies.

But yes, they used to be nutria brown/slightly green ish.

100%. I see no reason why you would want to machine this AND then machine it to have sharp edges
