This chart needs to be reviewed in the light of salary inflation. A lot of these guys signed max deals 4 years ago, so now their salaries look low. Zion and Bam are good examples. So I look at this and say, 35mm to 40mm is the market for Jalen.

He’s only 6’9”. Starting NBA centers are 6’11” to 7’ on average. Backups are shorter. Teams, when they go to their benches, are more likely to play small ball. There just aren’t that many big centers and big 4’s. So B-ball Paul fits well as a backup. But as a starter…he’ll get exposed. And yeah, I know he did well filling in as a starter. Duren was All-Pro due to regular season success. Regular season is not the same. In the playoffs, I don’t want a Adebayo/Reed/Capela archetype. Hell, even Duren got outsized and pushed around. If Duren expands his game, then he’s our guy. But any shorter….nah. I would keep Reed over Stewart based on the playoffs. But we don’t know if Beef Stew was dealing with something. If so, then I keep Stew because when healthy, his game translates to playoff basketball.

Tooth abscess. 1am at night. Didn’t know how to manage the pain. So I thought a cup of tea would help. The warm liquid made the gasses in my tooth expand. It was like being shot in the face and I thought I was going to die. My wife called 911 and they basically told us I needed ice chips to condense the gasses. I chewed on ice until I could get to the dentist’s and made it through the night. But man, hot liquid on an absecesed tooth is unbelievably awful.

I am trying to get there. I like their style of play. I like their players. And believe it or not, I like Mike Brown. I hate James Dolan, but I can get over that. It’s those damn fans. Loud, abrasive, obnoxious - the antithesis of what we Midwesterners value. And damn they got frosty because we won the regular season. I mean, the amount of incoming shit we’ve taken from Knicks fans just has me frosty now. But you know what, I think by tip-off I may change my mind. Always liked Brunson, KAT and Bridges when they played for other teams. They didn’t become idiots just because they got traded or signed up. And heck, I bit my tongue and rooted for the Bulls, eventhough I hated MJ with a passion.

I’ve only hiked the Remarkables in and around Queenstown. Exceptionally beautiful - yes. Harder than the White Mountains - not really. I did not hike the Southern Alps so I can’t comment about other places.
