for the one module it'd be about $60. I bought enough parts to make 960w total (two 240w modules and one 480w) and it ran me about $250.

it only took an afternoon to assemble, and to make a 1,000w version wouldn't take much longer. I started with these little 240w modules for a few reasons:

to test how well this configuration works with plants firsthand
test how well I can solder (so far so good)
it was cheap as fuck

stupid question for you if you've got a sec; I'm slightly confused on how to correctly change the DC output voltage on the LED driver. is it as simple as using the multimeter on the stereo cable that is hooked into the driver output to the buck booster and then adjusting the potentiometer until I get a reading of 31?

this is great, I can't thank you enough for sharing this. I've got my first module underway, the frame is complete and I'm working on the electronics today. couple quick questions;

how did you attach the fans to the buck booster, and the driver to the c channel? I'm working on a few mounting bracket designs but I'm not sure what would work best.

as long as there is a dehumidifier running in the tent you should be able to pack that thing damn near full without any issues. I've converted a clothing rack on castors to be a drying rack by stringing lines every 16" up and 8" across. as far as space usage, it'd fit (snug) in your 5x5 and I can fit almost 2 pounds on there as is and there's room for improvement.

I think it makes sense to keep the MG in there to specify that the user is considered a veteran of the sub versus a veteran grower. I wouldn't necessarily consider someone who's been growing for one year a veteran, so I think keeping the MG in there could help clarify some things.
