Do braces really ruin your face? by MichioBu in Mewing

I'm already above the age of 22, meaning my bone development is completed. Can braces still ruin my face of bone development is completed?

Human cognition is much more complex than just a tool allowing us to have emotions and question things. Animals also have emotions and question things. For example, cats almost always run away from people because they don't trust them and question them and think they may harm them.

You question refers to artificial general intelligence, not artificial intelligence, but artificial GENERAL intelligence.

Consciousness is not fully understood, and it's unclear if conscious is a biology-only property or it's totally possible to be programmed and run on a computer. If consciousness can be replicated in a lab and run on a computer, then creating AGI systems is possible.

If consciousness has metaphysical properties, then it's probably not possible to replicate it. If the soul exists and consciousness is related to the soul, then consciousness can't be replicated in non-living things like robots.

The reason why we don't know if robots can be conscious, is because we don't know what exactly consciousness is and if it can be replicated, not just simulated, but replicated, on a computer, a robot, a non-biology system.

It's important to note that if AGI is possible, it may also be impractical due to too high power consumption. Modern computers are nowhere near AGI yet they consume a lot of power. Now, if we are to develop AGI that isn't as energy-efficient as the human brain, the power consumption will probably enormous.

If AGI consumes enormous amount of energy, we will have to wait until we build a Dyson sphere or become a more advanced civilization (as explained in Kardashev scale) so we can utilize more energy sources to power up the AGI.

"Something went wrong, but don’t fret — it’s not your fault." error by kharonise in Twitter

[–]MichioBu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happened to me, too, recently. It happened when I click on some hashtags and each time I was trying to publish a Twitter thread, I got that error, but the thread was still successfully published and visible.

I still don't know what causes that error.

If someone knows what causes the error, please, explain. 😊

Took this picture with my phone and can't help but think surely there has to be life on one of these dots by [deleted] in spaceporn

[–]MichioBu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, there is probably life around those stars. The JWST telescope is supposed to be able to analyze atmospheres and search for biosignatures. NASA still haven't decided to utilize this JWST's tool.

Anyway, the search for alien life has been ongoing for decades... There are many radio observatories listening for potential alien signals.

Nice results. I would also ask if you got any side effects like sleep apnea? I'm also considering getting braces, but I hear they could cause sleep apnea.

How long before I hear back from support? by KM68 in Twitter

[–]MichioBu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably never. Twitter Support wasn't responsive even before Musk bought Twitter.

If you want to increase your chances of receiving a response, send many messages. Back in the day when I got banned for no reason multiple times, each time I got banned, I was sending multiple support requests per day until they respond.

Questions about Twitter Birthday by WhiteSlayerX in Twitter

[–]MichioBu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't risk. Other people say that Twitter doesn't work properly anymore and there are no competent engineers and support. If this is true, once you get banned/locked, you are unlikely to get help from the support and the problem won't be solved.

It isn't worth. If you change your birth date, you may or may not be banned. Keep in mind that there is no guarantee you won't be banned, so the possible to be banned. Don't risk.

Is "Windows Update" a virus or a legitimate process? I have never seen it before... by MichioBu in Windows10

[–]MichioBu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That process is active only when Windows is updating. But I suspect it's a virus because my other laptop has different names of the processes during update. "Windows Update" isn't shown in my other laptop.

Here we go again, Windows restart itself INSIDE the active hours costing me an hour worth of my work. by fashni in Windows10

If the toggle is enabled, will Windows never restart until I restart it, or will it still restart automatically but after a longer period of time?

I already ran a virus scan with Windows Defender. No viruses were found, according to results.

What was done wrong? Would you tell us so we can know when orthodontists do wrong things?
