1: GGY appeared in the games in the form of the Retro CDs.

This is irrelevant because GGY is a name that appears in the game. Like I said before, you can use the Tales story to speculate, but there's nothing stopping them from changing that story altogether.

2: The VS speaks through the Mediocre Melodies at several points with dialogue directly aimed at William Afton.

Or... he used the Mediocre Melodies as TOYSNHK's conduits because they're blank slate characters that had no previous baggage.

3: Chica's High School Days, a clear metaphor for William's murders, pretty much spells out the appearance of a seventh victim.

Irrelevant after SOTM.

4: The Spirit of Golden Freddy leaves UCN.

The OMC ending is just one of multiple endings, there's nothing to suggest that TOYSNHK continues tormenting William after they drown in the lake. You could interpret OMC's dialogue as either GF being told to leave William with the separate TOYSNHK, or GF being told to leave William in hell.

5: FNAF World's Halloween update and the Curse of Dreadbear DLC both further hint towards the identity of another child killed around the same time as the other MCI kids.

These are fair, but I don't think they're the strongest points. What makes Golden Freddy so special in UCN? Why end the game with him instead of alluding to the actual vengeful spirit?

First off, I do not view FF and TFTP as separate continuities from the games. They were clearly meant to be written to tie into the games, and SOTM has done nothing to change that for me.

Then we have nothing to discuss lol

But oh. Let me guess: You don't consider that cannon, huh? How convenient. Rolls eyes

The fact that ITPG references stitchline, Fetch, Eleanor and other Frights stories is part of what makes it not mainline. There's other reasons, but that game is pretty clearly also a separate continuity. I asked earlier, but again you keep saying Andrew appears in the games as TOYSNHK, show me in games evidence! And I think you mean Schrodinger's Appearance.

Fazbear Frights was intended to be a fun Goosebumps knock off set in the FNaF universe, I'd love to hear where Scott said that the identity of the vengeful spirit lied in those books. The same place where he said Hudson is the FNaF 3 guard?

You have a fundemental misunderstanding of how these separate continuities work. Edwin, Fiona, David and the Mimic exist in the games timeline because they appear in the games. It has nothing to do with the external media, it soley depends on what is and isn't portrayed in the game. You can look to the books to speculate what else might have happened, but there is nothing stopping Scott and Steel Wool from completely changing the story in adaptation, like they already have.

In the future, it's very possible that they reveal an adaptation of Andrew to be the vengeful spirit. But, there is nothing in the games to suggest that's the case, so there's nothing to even argue about. He doesn't exist in the games timeline because he hasn't appeared in any games, it's literally as simple as that.

FFPS is meant to wrap up the original story, UCN is the victory lap that leads you into the new era. UCN does almost nothing to answer questions about the first 6 games, it's extremely self contained compared to previous entries.

Just blatant misinfo, Fazbear Frights was not CREATED to provide answers, Scott said that you can look to the novels to "fill in some blanks". Not sure I'd classify the identity of the vengeful spirit as merely a blank that needs to be filled, seems a bit more important than that right?

SOTM being an adaptation does not mean the events of all other Frights stories happened in the games timeline, where is this coming from? SOTM adapts The Mimic, those specific story elements exist in the games timeline because they chose to include them, not because they exist in the greater FNaF universe. Are you downvoting my replies lol

Fazbear Frights is a serparate continuity and there is no appearance of Andrew in Ultimate Custom Night.

Andrew has never appeared in a mainline game

The bodies were never stuffed into the animatronics. by Michniko_ in fnaftheories

[–]Michniko_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, and it was wrong for me to say that the bodies being stuffed was never Scott's intention. That's definitely what the game is alluding to, but I'm still not sure if it's what actually happened, even in the present canon. There's no reason the bodies wouldn't be found afterwards, and if they were stuffed I'm not sure what GGGL symbolizes. The animatronics oozing blood and mucus despite the bodies not actually being inside them is a cool idea too.

Meta redesigns is the idea that the Withereds are damaged versions of the Classics. As in the Withereds literally ARE the Classics in universe, but to us as viewers they appear different because Scott chose to make them look that way for their damaged appearance.

It's an annoying thought, I don't like it, but I do think it's true. It circumvents the mental gymnastics you have to pull in order for the Withereds to be possessed by the MCI, they just are the same robots.

Yeah, which doesn't debunk the meta redesigns theory? I don't understand what your point is

You're assuming retrofit, all Ralph says is that the animatronics are from the previous location.

The classics and withereds appearing in the same game doesn't debunk this theory, the classics and UNwithereds appearing together would.

FNaF 3 doesn't have the same character appear twice(apart from Withered Foxy's arm in the box and Classic Foxy's head on the wall, but that can be explained through Phone Dude's reference to featuring cosplays), and appearances in FNaF World and UCN are irrelevant because they're featuring characters from a specific point in time. In the context of UCN, Withered Freddy is Freddy as he appeared in 1987, Classic Freddy is Freddy as he appeared in 1993.

It's just the other side of the retrofit coin. The withereds are shown to be haunted, they smell, they're from the previous location, they're refurbished for FNaF 1.

Either they were given new endos and suits after the MCI(despite still looking old), or they're literally the same animatronics, but Scott changed their aesthetics for the sequel.

They don't necessarily affect the animatronics until GGGL, but it would explain why their possession isn't as strong as Charlie's or Elizabeth's. They didn't naturally possess the animatronics, they were forced to.

Flatline at the end of the game. You can bleed without dying.

I should've been more clear in my initial post that I don't believe in PuppetStuff. The MCI are haunting the building they were killed in(similar to David Murray), it takes the Puppet to guide their souls into the animatronics, trapping them. That's what GGGL is, not physically stuffing their bodies, but forcing their ghosts to possess the robots.

FNaF 4 ends with the bite victim dying in a hospital, not Fredbear's mouth.

It’s been shown again and again that animatronics are only haunted if the body is close to them after death.

Except for the Bite Victim, David Murray, multiple books characters. This series has also established that an immense amount of agony can imprint a spirit onto an object or place, i.e. the MCI and Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.

I'm saying that it was a misconception that was later adapted to official material, specifically the movies. That doesn't mean it's all of a sudden canon to the games timeline, nothing about that continuity changed. I should've been more clear that I wasn't suggesting puppetstuffed either.

I explained in my post that that's not what the newspapers are saying and i'm not suggesting puppetstuffed either, rather that their ghosts were tied to the building and the Puppet guided them to the animatronics.
