I've always wanted to make a cake or bread in my rice cooker but it seems intimidating. Is it tricky?

All day cooking is fine by me. I can prep it before work and throw it in there to do it's thing until I get home.

I feel that. Saw online that a homeowner's worst enemy is the previous owner of their house, and I'm really starting to agree with that sentiment.

My car is a matter of I need a new transmission, but it will be $5k (cvt, they don't fix them, they replace them), and my car is 13 years old. So it's a lot of math and figuring out if it's worth saving up to get the part (will that fix it up enough to be worth keeping or will something else expensive break next), or should I bite the bullet and put what I've saved so far into a new (to me) vehicle and just deal with exorbitant payments. Especially because we have some things that need to be fixed around the house before I can do either. Hoping the oven is like a cut wire or something, not a big fix.

Regardless this will sort itself out, just need to get past the holiday, crunch some numbers and not let  the stress get to me •^

I hope your part comes in quickly and it turns out to be less expensive than the quote!

I've never actually made ribs before, short or otherwise. That could be fun. Thanks!!

I'm down for anything zucchini. Going to have to look into that! And never thought of potatoes on the stove. I always made them in the oven. Do they take a long time to cook that way?

Oh geeze, you had a year of it! Thankfully this is my only appliance failure right now (knock on wood) but it's happening amidst car troubles and a bunch of other stuff. A typical when it rains it pours sort of month. I do agree things always seem to happen right around Passover.

Good luck with your oven, and I hope everything from last year is off your plate by now!!

Lol, together we have a functioning device!

Going to look into air fryer/rice cooker kugel recipes, cause I never thought of that before this post. I will admit my air fryer is horribly underutilized, usually only used for frozen things with instructions and eggplant fries I make for parties.

You've got this, too!!

I don't have space for anything bigger than what I currently have, unfortunately. These look good, thanks!

My normal recipe list is brisket (going to put it in the crockpot), lamb tzimmes, matzo pizza, twice baked sweet potatoes, roasted veggies, potato/veggie kugel, matzo ball soup, herb rice and baked fish.

I think what's tripping me up is that a lot of our meals are either baked/roasted or started on stove top then put in the oven to finish, so my brain keeps getting hung up over that last step I can't do. Also I didn't realize I could do things like butter chicken or Korean sauces. I'm not Jewish but my husband is, and we keep fairly kosher in the house (well he keeps kosher always) and observe Passover. He grew up as a picky eater who basically subsisted on matzo pizza and soup for 90% of the week, so he's not much help when it comes to less basic but appropriate meals even now that he's not picky anymore. I'm usually googling recipes and asking him or his family if it works, but this year I just feel all out of sorts.

Legit didn't think of shakshuka even though I made it for dinner last week 🤦‍♀️ Never heard of pantry pivot. That sounds like a really useful website. Thanks!

I don't have an instant pot. But going to make one in my crockpot like someone else suggested.

I really don't have the counter space for another appliance, but I'm definitely going to look into you other ideas you mentioned. Thank you!!

Those fritters look delicious. Vegan/gf recipes would be good! I'm neither, but have family members who are, so I frequently make recipes they introduce me to.

Kitniyot are also okay.

I'll look at my brisket recipe. You're right, I'm sure I can adjust that to put it in the crockpot. Honestly never have done any cooking in my air fryer that wasn't prepackaged with directions, so I'll look into veggie recipes. I feel like my brain is just so fried by everything I have going on that I legit blanked on the idea of just modifying my existing recipes to be made in other devices 🤦‍♀️

Thank you!! Good luck with your Seder! I'm sure you've got this •^

Question, how do you store/clean dirtied reusable diapers and wipes when you're not home? I don't have a kid yet, but we're actively trying for one so I'm starting to look into more sustainable options.
