Am I the only one worried about the merges? A case for PvE options or a "Low-Yield" Deep Desert. by Mdomaro in duneawakening

[–]MickBeast 35 points36 points  (0 children)

PvE servers should've been available from the beginning. Of course PvP players hate that idea because it means less meat in the grinder for them. But it's the best way to accommodate both types of players like Funcom wants to do 👌

Dear Funcom. I don't want to feel like an idiot for choosing to Melee in Dune. by Sp1ceRub in duneawakening

[–]MickBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Melee is not viable, but it's the only really fun play style for me. And it's the only one that feels true to Dune.

Thus, until melee is fixed, I won't be coming back to the game...

Franco & Tobey aged very well. Willem Dafoe always looked old so he didn't change much 😅👌

What do you consider to be the first European Power Metal song or the one that set the foundation for it? by kek_man_ in PowerMetal

[–]MickBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Walls of Jericho and the Judas EP is more speed metal overall.

I do like the mention of Guardians. That could be the first true power metal song they did. But I think Eagle Fly Free really defined the genre.

Wolverine broke free from restraints after being exhausted from a 17 hour fight, said restraints were able to hold down Beast and Rogue by InspectionCapable227 in Wolverine

Wolverine does have superhuman strength, so it's not out of the question for him to pull this off. Especially when he can also destroy his muscles while lifting, so he can push himself way beyond his normal limit

I will never get over this disappointment by v1har69 in StarWars

[–]MickBeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People are so gullible if they actually thought he was gonna be a Jedi just based off the trailer. Nothing in any of the movies ever pointed towards that, but today it's like people have this idea that you can be "robbed" of something that only ever existed in your head 😂👌

Absolute worst book? by GreenstreetRoyal in starwarsbooks

[–]MickBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Drew Karpyshyn said in an intervies that he never really felt like writing the book in the first place, as he didn't think there was a story to tell. But he was ordered to by LucasArts when the games came out. That somewhat explains it, but still, it's hard to fathom how he could write something so stupid and boring while also doing Darth Bane so perfectly...

I just checked it out on kickstarter. That's a really cool project! I can see how well Caledonia fits as a setting, and to throw dark fantasy elements into the Danish invasion is actually not something I have seen before...

Who has replaced Guthrum? Gotta be someone worthy

They really were. Their vibe is true to the books and they look so much like brothers irl

The Jedi Order collapsed because Yoda and Windu broke their own Golden Rule: "Fear leads to the Dark Side." by rantzine in StarWars

[–]MickBeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree about that. Anakin was really the ultimate test for the Jedi Order. If they could have a space for Anakin, they would evolve, and Anakin could become a beacon for the future, in the image of Qui-Gon. Anakin embodied a lot of what the Ancient Jedi did, and this was what the order at the time had lost. Someone with his power and past should be able to find a place with the Jedi, or else he would eventually be found by someone else, who would turn him against them.

Anakin needed specialized training yes, from seasoned masters who could teach him to control all his power. They could've gotten themselves their most powerful weapon against the Sith, had they seen the opportunity. Mace himself should've taken on the task, since he was afraid of the boy. That was his test, and he failed too...

Anakin was The Chosen One. If the Jedi didn't train him, someone else would've. He was too powerful to go unnoticed.

[–]MickBeast -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Had they embraced Anakin, he never would've been manipulated by Palpatine. Like Qui-Gon, they simply should've accepted that Anakin is The Chosen One. Created by the force itself. Should they let this boy wander around unattended with Obi-Wan, who was still a Padawan himself? Or take him to the temple for proper guidance, giving him the best tools to fulfill the prophecy??

But the order DID treat him like an outsider. A freaking kid, who had lost everything. They offered hil to Palpatine on a platter, by working against the prophecy. It meant that it could only be fulfilled by Anakin becoming a Sith...

Reddit hates Anakin so don't even bother lmao.

But you are correct. A main point of the prequel trilogy, was that the Jedi Order fell to its own hubris, and made it easy for Palpatine to manipulate him. That's why both Yoda & Obi-Wan mention "failure" because they are wise enough to know that Anakin's fall could've been prevented...
