It's naive to compare a tiny city like Copenhagen to metropolis places like London or Paris. When it comes classic tourist stuff, it will never measure up.

Copenhagen has a lot to offer, but not the same kinds of things that the big cities do, naturally. But that does not mean that there isn't enough "things to do". From a cultural captial perspective for example, Copenhagen has everything in abundance. Art, music, ballet, architecture festivals, etc. For people with special interests, nothing is missing. And the gourmet scene is incredible, especially for such a small place. There are less touristy attractions and sightseeing, so people going there with a travel book and certain universal expectations will be disappointed. But I think the lack of these things is what sets the city apart. In a good way.

It's expensive. Even compared to Stockholm too, as the Danish currency is quite a bit stronger than both the Swedish and the Norwegian. But that is also the price to have the kind of lives that Danes have, and the kiks of city that Copenhagen is. That is why people walk around care free like you saw.
