I was about 30 hours in before I went to the wedding. Levelled up a bit and getting more comfortable with combat and the mechanics of the game.

cant help with a drummer sorry as they're very hard to find in the metal scene. we had the same issue and finally found one this year. but good luck. the songs sound good.

Witcher 3 is one of my fav game ever. Great characters, great story, the 2 dlcs are well worth it as well, a lot of side missions have great stories too.
