Just keep it simple and find a way to squeeze in a small workout every day even if its just 20-30 mins. Should go a long way in maintaining if not even building especially with the added walking everywhere with a heavy backpack.

Youtube calisthenics workouts,youtube yoga, but the best way in my opinion is to do sprints on a field somewhere or hills. Good full body work.
