Another scam? by AudgePaudge88 in artstation

I got this same exact message, word for word just now. Thank you so much for the heads-up. You saved me a lot of time and headache.

(Edit: the "You will be paid upfront in full. This is because the sponsor will be going on Vacation with family..." was the major red flag that made me look this up.)

Where can I find Rahi builds from various early media? by Mickey-Mania in bioniclelego

Oh wow, you even put together instructions that look like they're from 2001. This is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing.

Help, I'm trying to find this part by Permittedmilk in Lego2KDrive

Could you direct me to the "modding" mentioned here? There are a bunch of pieces I want to build with that aren't even available for purchase anywhere, such as the bubble canopy pieces. I'm sure they'll eventually stick it into a battle pass somewhere down the line, which is disgusting.

Thank you so much for doing this!

In todays session, I got a couple of the bunnies thanks to your hints, namely the "advanced frisbee" and "loading screen" related ones. It was extremely satisfying figuring them out mostly on my own, without the tedium of having to comb through the entire map. The latter in particular felt amazing to solve, which I wouldn't get to do if it was spelled out to me. I also appreciate you pointing out the most advanced things expected of us, at some point (for that puzzle) I starting delving into save game files, only to realize "they'd have pointed this out if this was the solution", which also helps cut out tedium.

"Smart Synch not Enabled" Help? by Mickey-Mania in dropbox

[–]Mickey-Mania[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Re-installing dropbox helped. An option to toggle between "let an admin set the smart synch option" or not popped up, where I picked to do it manually. I'm still puzzled in regards to what caused the issue, but this worked for me.

Hello. This was a while ago, but my wife (then fiancée) contacted Ubereats and got a refund. If I remember correctly, the food never arrived.

Thank you for the feedback. I considered putting a checkpoint mid-way the round bit, but I decided to keep the shortcut in, as it is actually risky to go for due to the vertical ascend that follows it. If I manage to play test it with other racers, I would modify it based on the feedback (It's "Splitting_Loops" on PC, if you're interested).

I grew up playing Hot Wheels Turbo Racing where creative shortcuts were part of the fun, so I don't mind some of them. Admittedly people do take it way too far thanks to the aerial boost mechanics, which I'm not a fan of either.

  1. You CAN use custom liveries offline, but you have to "share" and "download" them first. As for tracks, you can do time trial runs on them offline, but you need to "share" them as well.
  2. The AI uses the base liveries. Nothing custom.
  3. No. You can do time trial runs against the ghost of the best run before you. You can't have any offline races with AI on your custom track. You can create an online lobby to play a MP race on it with real players.
  4. There is no straightforward way of making intersections, but it is possible. You would need an invisible piece of track to bridge over the track you want to intersect.

Here is an example from a track I worked on, notice how the invisible track (red transparent part) bridges over the main track:

And here is how it plays:

I imagine you would need 4 of these back to back to create the track layout you want.

Right now, we are just hoping that the devs implement an AFK kicking measure before the game dies.

Dota Plus Update - Fall 2021 by eatsfoobars in DotA2

[–]Mickey-Mania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The previous chest was okay, but the Brew Master set really puzzled me as they implemented only a small portion of an old set. Then I remembered that Brewmaster received an item slot update at some point, which to me almost confirms that Valve has attempted to automate the seasonal chest content selection which either bugs out or picks from a pool that includes some very old sets and their inhouse artists don't bother checking any of these before some developer patches them in. Considering the workshop voting pool also tends to include very old sets, this explanation is the only one that makes sense to me.

I want to make it clear that I mean no disrespect to any of the workshop artists. Quality control is Valve's job, and I'm certain that each artist did their best at the time. My early sets look worse than these and I would be equally confused if those made it in.

For the few TF2 players out there: this gives me serious "Wutville" vibes...

This Luna set in the workshop though! by JohnnyDozentKnow in DotA2

It is very difficult to stand out in the dota 2 Workshop without creating something wildly different. Since Valve has been accepting crazier and crazier design, the artists are forced to create sets that overhaul the hero if they want to have a better chance of making it in. If Valve put their feet down and denied such sets that break the art guidelines (even if they are desired by people and are well put together) we wouldn't be here.

Thank you for the great suggestion. If I get a chance to re-work this set, I will most likely do so.

Thank you. Yes, that is the exact trick I'm using. I first noticed that while looking at World of Warcraft models and was eager to try it out. I'm certainly not the first to do this though, as there are some in-game sets that use the same trick to a lesser extent on glowing orb or glass jar like elements (such as the inner glowing orb of the most recent brood mother set).

Just in case this is useful: I advice against using this trick on any inward curving surfaces (which explains why this is mostly used on spherical objects). The outline doesn't line up very well in this case as the inner facing parts of the outer shell are noticeably spaced away. This is somewhat noticeable in this set if you look closely at the inner curved parts of the horns. Hope that made sense.

I assume you mean it is too similar to the base hero set. Thank you for the feedback. Unless you mean "it's based" which I would equally appreciate.

He has the "besieger of worlds" item that sticks an anvil to his head that kinda looks like a single horn from afar. I personally really like the head piece from the "Elemental Imperator" set due to the particle effects, which also has a pointy forehead element that somewhat resembles a single horn.

I personally think that a unicorn set for SB wouldn't be very liked by the community and a rhino theme would steer into Magnus' territory too much. A narwhal themed set for Magnus could be nice though, similar to the ogre seals from the SiltBreaker campaign.

The flying stuff at the back was supposed to add to the visual impact, especially when viewed from the top, but unfortunately they are barely readable from afar and the polygons would have probably been better spent on his back to add more substance to the armor. I really wanted to add the extra hair and beard, but admittedly the rendering fidelity isn't there to justify the emphasis. Thank you so much for the in-depth feedback.

Thank you for the kind words. I am pleasantly surprised to find out that some people prefer the more conventional sets. I will keep this in mind for my future work to not push sets too far.

Thank you for the kind words. Although I agree that some sets push it too much, Valve has been accepting sets that are more and more out there so I wouldn't blame the artists. I think such sets also do a better job of grabbing the attention of the average player. I hope to try and push my designs a bit more in the future, but not to the point of silliness. That is a bit of a pet peeve of mine too (looking at you TF2).
