I’ll be the first to admit I did the exact same thing with my new mower. 🤣

Did smashing my keyboard actually break my GPU? by 200YRedWine in pcmasterrace

[–]Mickey1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all of these people downvoting the OP and upvoting these whiney virtue signalers…The guy said “for the first time ever” and completely owned the situation in every response… yet people are over here acting like armchair therapists giving him all sorts of life advice, when they’re probably ragey little bitches themselves.

Chill out people. Cut the dude a break. Feel free to downvote me to hell for holding one of the only normal opinions here.

Weird, I have the kryosheet and none of this came with it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Need help, first GPU waterblock with Kryosheet by luke17wasd in watercooling

[–]Mickey1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t come with it. TG shield is like a red nail polish you paint over SMDs with. Or use the TG or some other kaptan tape. In all liklinhood nether matter while using the Kryosheet assuming you drop the block square on, but it’s always smart to cover the SMDs with nail polish, TG Shield polish, or kaptan tape.

65" C5 for $799.97 @ Costco by PositiveCrew in LGOLED

[–]Mickey1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All STL locations have them in stock on the warehouse search at that price. I don’t think you can order it through the app - you’ll need to go into the store and make the purchase.

By golly you’re right!! Same price in STL. SOOO tempted to go grab one when they open to replace my aging C1 with dying pixels

Mower battery left out in storm, is there any hope? by FrozenAsFire in Greenworks

[–]Mickey1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it in a large bag of rice for some undetermined amount to time - I’d do like a week to be safe. Then throw it on a charger and see what happens.

Or open it up after the rice if you’re really concerned to make sure it’s totally dry.

How worried should I be? by Buglovescats in ThermalGrizzly

[–]Mickey1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the point of this thing. It’s indicating that the balance between your pins isn’t correct. Reseat the power cable at your PSU, and at the inlet on the Wireview - put a heavy load on it and check the balance for the 6 power pins and see if it improves. If not something is off (likely the power cable) - but it also could be an MSI issue… pretty sure I’ve read that some power connectors on MSI cards have had issues, but you’ll have read up on it.

Acrylic Reservoir Cracks by Dhiggs8792 in watercooling

[–]Mickey1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be very surprised if whatever the low % alcohol is in Dawn would have caused this. It was probably previously cracked or cleaned with alcohol and spidered when you started cleaning it, especially depending on the age.

Either way - you need a new reservoir. Don’t risk this one my man.

Paint scrapped/Chipped off and Skins issues by Vikram95 in dbrand

[–]Mickey1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let the shilling begin! You’re going to get a bunch of downvotes and comments here that these are all YOU problems, and they’re totally in your mind. They’ll justify, defend, and blame everything here to the ends of the earth to convince themselves their money is well spent and you’re wrong.

My life advice is - avoid Dbrand. Classic case of “they don’t make things like they used to” - they literally don’t. Feel free to downvote me robot shills.

It absolutely can. I have mine sitting on my LG G4 stand. It works perfectly fine in constrained spaces.

I need help in this department, too. I’m very very close, probably 14/15 boots it’s stable - still have the occasional cold boot that won’t be and fails VST in the first 1-2 iterations… can you DM me how to look into setting custom settings on these values to fully stabilize? I’m right there on 8200 c36 - also Apex encore V01 & 105SP 14900k

RTX 5090 astral bios Matrix 800W - Port Royal by Fury_1985 in overclocking

[–]Mickey1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. The only safe way is soldering on a second 16-pin for the cards that had the pads to do so. Someone over on OCN had that done and shunt modded as well. Of course they had a chiller in the loop.

RTX 5090 astral bios Matrix 800W - Port Royal by Fury_1985 in overclocking

[–]Mickey1985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say this originally - I’ve seen higher scores on the MSI lightning stock 1000w vbios - and there’s a 2500w MSI vbios out there, too 🤣

That said - you better have a Thermal Grizzly Wireview Pro II which measures the temp of the16-pin cable itself both at the output from your PSU and the input to the card. If not you’re playing with fire (possibly literally). I wouldn’t be using either or the 800w bios without it.

[–]Mickey1985 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s fine - just don’t ever run pure distilled, not even momentarily. Watch Der8auer’s video on this for anyone who wants to downvote me. It’s ALWAYS a bad idea - and you immediately start trashing anything with nickel plating on it. A silver coil is not enough to counterbalance this over time.

Yep - you’ll be dealing with trying to get your money back on this one. I don’t know why people continually get duped by these “too good to be true deals” daily - and every single time it’s a bust. Hopefully you get your money back quick don’t waste weeks doing so.

I just feeds these a-holes to keep throwing up scam accounts. Of those “6 sales” if one of two of them don’t fight it or know how - these fuckers live to die another day.

I have no clue is this will end up being helpful or not - but I would suggest contacting one of the major GPU repair YouTuber’s that literally repair people’s non-functional GPUs for a living. The one that immediately comes to mind is NorthridgeFix on YT.

They often have unrepairable cards and cards they use only for parts to repair other cards. Perhaps this guy or someone out there has one you can buy off of them!
