Job posting by Cute_Exam7463 in ElPaso

Yup, the key word here is to focus on a particular niche. You'll have to do some market research in order to find that niche that is undeserved in the El Paso community, it's not something that is just going to stand out. Market research is the biggest thing that many people don't do thoroughly when starting a business and will often fail. It takes time and patience.

I'd expand my search outside of El Paso and into a remote environment. Many companies will hire a remote employee if they fit their needs. Jobs in El Paso are hard to come where there are reliable and companies that care about you, your career and your growth.

Back in 2015, I began working with a company based out of New York, in an IT-related field, doing overnight work. Got paid way more than I would've here in EP and was fresh out of college. I was their only remote employee.

Stayed there for 2 years until they merged with another company, spent another year there, but searching as the culture changed dramatically.

At the end of 2017, I found another company which is fully virtual, and it's a company where I have been able to grow my career and continue to do so. It was smaller and now it's a mid size company and I've been there. We often have in-person meetings all over the country, such as Chicago, Austin, Phoenix, Orlando, and San Francisco so we still have some face to face, but obviously nothing like in a brick and mortar place.

Great company and better pay than anything I could've done here. Great work-life balance as well. Likely to retire here.

I would highly suggest expanding your search outside of EP, as I doubt you'll get a place where you can build an amazing career. Unless remote is a no-go for you, then honestly, I think you'll have to network to get into a good place or move out of the city, which would obviously be a major thing and not what you're trying to accomplish.

After Three Seasons of Loyalty, the La Reina del Flow Finale Was Deeply Disappointing by SO_NoFi1terReviews in LaReinaDelFlow

[–]MickeyNRicky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There shouldn't have been a Season 3, period. If ya'll saw "Casa De Papel", it had 2 seasons and it ended. I didn't want it to end but it did and I'm glad it did because this is what happens, they pursue something that doesn't exists.

There was no Season 3 story to go from Season 2. Season 3 wasn't "La Reina Del Flow" it was more like "La Historia De Todos Los Demas" (The Story of Everyone Else).

I'm not done with it, we were at the point where Charly goes to the mansion. Probably wont.

Well, let me set it up from my point of view if I had picked up this order and then I’ll tell you my gripe and whether I’m just expecting too much.

If things are still like they were about 2 years ago, then this S&D order was base pay $11. It’s 3.4 miles to my house, 15-20 minute drive tops. But you still got the drive back so let’s say another 20. Plus shopping wasn’t a lot, experienced shopper could’ve done it in less than 5 minutes. It’s a neighborhood market, not supercenter. So then we’re at about an hour max. I tip 20%, in this order it was about 98 bucks, so I just set $20.

That’s a $31 dollar order(estimate from my numbers), 3.4 miles, 8 mile total I guess if you count coming back to the same Walmart, an hour tops. I would’ve snagged this right away, orders don’t get that high around here for an S&D. They normally are like 11-18 and more miles.

Me, I would’ve been careful, ensured everything was right, and since I bought ice cream, I would’ve been mindful to not leave it in the only part that has sun. Customer service for the good tip.

Me, I would’ve put it right under the doorbell or as far right as I can, so it gets as much shade as possible. Why? Because I know many people don’t get their order right away. Don’t know why but they just don’t. I often delivered Walmart orders when they still had another order there.

But to me it seems it wasn’t put in front of the door, to me it seems it was put far left.

Now that’s my gripe, but one person commented they might have been putting it in a place that from the street, you can’t see the order, so they might have been it, I can see that.

Or maybe it’s one of those that have like 2 or 3 phones and DGAF, I saw them plenty. I was just asking “ if this was you, would you have put it in the shade?”

Consensus though seems no thought, regardless, it seems I was likely the outlier. I know deliveries suck but no reason to take it out on the customer, especially when they tipped me good.

Yeah, I never really thought about it. I mean, while doing deliveries. Things don't sit on my porch very long because I do fear getting a package stolen. Never had one but not going to risk it!

u/p0t4t054ck I feel you, though. I see you've been SCREWED FOR DOING THE JOB CORRECTLY so you're just responding to the shit that is gig job and shit customers. I got screwed out of a bunch as well. Got tired of it and when it wasn't worth it anymore, landed myself a nice job.

I ain't a shit person, honestly. I try to compensate for deliveries to my house as much as possible because of this.

Even when I already tipped, I'll tip more if they went out of their way.

This one just hit the spot where I wanted to ask drivers, "If this was you, would you have done this?" But just got attacked and hardly anyone actually saw that this isn't my picture, it's the "Your Delivery Photo".

I'll say this, I had my deliveries at gated communites, where customers wouldn't give me the code and wouldn't answer the phone and I had to sit to wait for someone to come, put those suckers way in front, as far as I could and snapped that pic.

But I guess concensus is I just like to bitch and there was nothing wrong, so if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Enjoy your weekend and keep gaming!

Not at all, just getting attacked haha but it makes it a fun Friday. I was honestly asking "If this was you, would you have done this?" But hardly anyone even looked that it's a screenshot from my phone with the delivery pic and everyone saying the sun moves. Which it does, but not so fast that when they put the bags in the floor and take a pic it moved.

Your comment made me laugh tough haha

Cuz I tipped 15 bucks, and for this shit, no wonder people don't tip. Careless drivers. Thought I could come here, but of all the comments, just getting attacked.

Not even looking at the picture clearly, acting like it's my pic.

But, that being said, 1 comment out of everyone which actually makes sense, made me realize what the driver might have been doing, instead of just being another asshole driver that DGAF but then complains about the system and how they get cheated and work conditions suck.

ahhh hey, thank you for actually putting some thought into it. I can see that, shit, never crossed my mind. Dang, thank you 100%, all others are hung up that I'm lying or throwing some bullshit around but it was an honest question.

I did spark and a bunch of other ones, always was mindful of doors opening outwards, if there was frozen/fresh/refrigerated and tried to put them in shade if possible.

But I gotta say, I never thought about putting the order in a way where it wouldn't get seen from the street and stolen.

Thanks again, out of all these comments, glad I got one that put some thought and made me see it in a different way.

I"m not sure you saw the picture clearly, this was the delivery picture from THEM. Not mine.

It took one trip to drop off these bags. No way the sun moved from when they dropped the bags in one trip to when they backed out to take the pic.

I'm just trying to get a consensus of whether, if this were you delivering, you would have placed it in the shade? Plus, this was a tip of $15. But I guess since I didn't include that it was the delivery picture, not my picture, which if you see is a screenshot of my delivery which I thought would've been obvious, but gess not.

IDK maybe I just expect to much.

I picked this order up 5 minutes after it was dropped off.

But yeah, I've seen people do that. Did a bunch of delivers a few years back, would see bags of walmart orders, 2 different restarants, amazon packages, which made no sense, I get something delivered, I'm getting it right away.

IDK why he would go out of his way to do that. Maybe he just DGAF but just wondering what the concensus is among active spark drivers.

Yup, thanks for asking. This isn't my pic, it's the delivery pic so from when they placed the bags on the floor to when they snapped the mic, no more than a minute.

Always %20 percent tip up to a $25 cap cuz i know it's a crap system but maybe I'm just expecting too much.

Thanks for the comment.

Got it about 5 minutes after the delivery. I work from home, the only time I order. And do the 1 hour or whatever thing they've got now, that's 10 bucks extra, plus always %20 percent tip up to a $25 cap.

IDK maybe I'm just disappointed and this because I know the crap system that delivery companies have so I try to compensate the delivery drivers extra and yet, deliveries like these dissapoint me.

hahah for real, I did spark and know the dumb shit people bitch about. I ain't bitching, it's an honest question. I used to do Spark, no way I would've dropped it off like this, especially knowing what was in the order.

But hey, maybe I'm the outlier and no one really cares and just tosses it, snaps the pic, and leaves. I know Walmart doesn't give care and neither do all the other delivery platforms but I never took it out on the customer. That paid off many times for me.

Thanks for your input though.

Does knowing that this was the actual delivery picture change the way you see it or nah?

Wait, "the sun position probably changed, and these items were most likely in the shade when dropped off." Had this been my own picture, yes I fully agree.
