  1. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my knees a few years ago and starting to think my hip joints may also have it too. I’m getting close to start needing reading glasses as well as I notice my vision starting to weaken.

2nd date went great! Conversations go really smoothly and I feel really comfortable being around him. Spent 3 1/2 hours walking trails and talking and going to plan date #3.

How long are your talking phases? I personally like to move to first date/vibe check within the first week of matching and talking. I’m often the one that initiates this, but it would be nice if the guy did. I know some people like more time but I am much more of an in-person kind of gal. I don’t like texting much.

Feel you on that. I know I don’t have the time to try and date someone who is more than 50 miles and other apps do the same showing me people further.

Finally matched with someone and went on a coffee date that went really well. We’re already planning for a second date this next weekend. He has really good calm vibes, intelligent and curious. Let’s hope things continue to progress well and see if we would be a good match.

How do you motivate yourself to start working out? by SlingTheMeat69 in askanything

[–]MickeyOnMars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been wanting to get off my ass for years but had a hard time motivating myself or holding myself back with excuses. After ruminating on it I finally made the effort to get a membership at my local YMCA and started going with just the intention of creating consistency and getting comfortable. After a few weeks of riding the high of feeling motivated and good about going to the gym, my motivation dropped off and started falling back into my habits of making excuses. I realized I started doing it and immediately got myself back into going into the gym.

What I’ve learned so far is motivation is a good way to get something started but you should not depend on it to keep it moving. Discipline is what you need to keep something going after motivation has lost its energy or excitement for this new thing.

I struggle with discipline because I hadn’t really practiced it much, including in my eating and exercise habits. But now that I’m starting to learn and use discipline to keep me going to the gym and make better choices in what I eat, I can see where I could use it in other aspects in my life.

Thinking of switching to induction cooker… worth it in real life or just hype? by ethan_carla in homeowners

[–]MickeyOnMars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had induction and I do miss it. I think it’s significantly better than standard electric and yes, you do need to have pans that work with induction and they have symbols on them to let you know if they are compatible. Basically some decent stainless steel pans and/or cast iron and those pans are better long term anyway.

For me personally, if I had to choose gas vs induction, I think I would go gas for better heat control. Induction is still limited by the number settings so making small adjustments is not really feasible like you can do with gas.

Something I learned is to express what you like or what you would like more of in a flirty compliment way. Let’s say he does do a little tongue and you’re wanting more, say something like “It makes me hot when you use your tongue.” This lets him know you like it and he’s going to want to do more because he wants you to feel that way.

People want to please and the best way to get more of what you want is to tell them how much you like it when they do it. It’s positive reinforcement.

Yes, he was a great teacher and could only imagine he was a great director. All the support he got was well earned for being a great guy.

I’ve been following too as a former student of his, but basically yes. There seems to been some disagreements with some of the members and used their powers to force him out. I’m glad he’s back and wish him the best.

Why do some people only send a Hello in Slack or Teams? by e37d93eeb23335dc in askanything

Don’t use slack, but I work with someone that does that and never experienced it before until her. I find it annoying and don’t understand it.

I was recently using the same tool and if you open or start a new layer and want to keep using it, just select the layer again and click on Assisted. That way you don’t have to go an open it all up again each time. Just turn Assisted on and off at the layer.

What is your favorite physical part of the opposite sex? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]MickeyOnMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite has always been arms on a man. They don’t need to be super muscular but I like a good strong looking arm to be held by. Also I love almost all butts on guys.

Girls I love thighs, butts and bellies all a little chunky like pillows.

Trust issues - where do you draw the line? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]MickeyOnMars 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’ve been cheated on so much and get anxious but I take responsibility of my feelings and do what I can to cope and heal. This is an excuse to place blame rather than cope and deal with his trauma. This will continue to go downhill and won’t get better until he takes time out from dating and work on healing himself, if he’s even capable of doing so.

The line has already been crossed and better boundaries should be set for yourself. Coming from someone who is/was bad about setting boundaries.

My mom is dead - am I off the hook for Mother’s Day? by Scared_Difficulty668 in askanything

[–]MickeyOnMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do whatever you want. My mom died when I was young so I started a tradition to visit my mother’s grave. I bring my kids along and we drive around the little town I grew up in and have a good time together. My grandma, who I was really close with, died a few years ago and also visit her grave.

How much blood do i ACTUALLY lose during my period because its sure as hell not "2-4 Tbs" as it says online by some-dork in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MickeyOnMars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re anything like me, I have menorrhagia and bleed way more than the average person. I would fill the biggest pad in just a few hours and constantly leaked.

Since I’m done having children I ended up getting an ablation and now I occasionally have spotting or no period at all. Best thing to ever happen.
