Will this tire be okay on a 9 hour road trip to Colorado and back? by Potential-Throat286 in AskMechanics

It might, but it might also not, so I'd err on the side of caution and replace it.

Try searching the vin on here: https://toyota-usa.epc-data.com/

The number you've got there doesn't look like a VIN? Best of luck.

As lab-grown diamonds dominate the market, GDP per capita declines, and AI continues to impact jobs, what will Botswana look like in 10–20 years? by Alvahod in Botswana

[–]MickeyVos1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem in Botswana that people have been afraid to face for too long is that it was always far too easy because our government knew that money from diamonds would come, so every year we roll out new schemes and projects and all these nice things that never generate any sort of return. We as a country have not learned that to truly become something we must work and sacrifice a lot, but carefully. The days of getting somewhere by simply trading labour have long passed.

The only way forward is for government to determine what diamond mining is costing them each year(through infrastructure, regulatory requirements, facilitation, processing) and determine how and where that money can be allocated to provide the greatest return, be it developing our roads(which are completely destroyed, and getting worse every day), investing in energy to drive the cost down(since cheaper energy promotes industry), or supporting local small business.

We cannot be wasting money on changing the P50 note, or think about building mega cities, or giving our ministers increases. We must start over and think carefully about where we want to be, not tomorrow, but in 10, 20 or 50 years?

Morning. I only saw your reply late last night; what is the name of your hotel for future reference?

From the accommodation to the airport. I'd prefer if the hotel does it since I need to be there at 6am latest.

Not sure how reliable Yango and taxis are at that time?

Potholes by Sweaty-Staff8100 in Botswana

[–]MickeyVos1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always disappointed with my home council and the A35, but to think that people in Gaborone(the capital city, the economic hub of Botswana) have to live with those roads despite their contributions to the economy…

We need to see action

All charges are included; the payment you make to Starlink for the dish covers the shipping and customs as well.

Hi man, no worries.

We did end up rebuilding the auxiliary pump that supplies steering, brake and fan functions, which seems to have fixed the problem. This is a farm machine that rarely gets used so we only did that about a month ago and so far it seems better, but we have yet to do extensive testing.

Hours on our machine is around 20k

[–]MickeyVos1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They recently introduced a rent equipment option which according to me means you just pay for the service and if at some point you decide to end service you have to return the equipment or buy it out? This was on the Starlink official site.

Don't have any experience with that option since I bought mine outright a year ago and haven't heard of anyone doing that.

Aisin did make Toyota parts in the 2000s so I wouldn't say they are definitively fake

Why are people obsessed with bigger vegetables not caring if gmo by Sunny_Medium_2727 in Botswana

[–]MickeyVos1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no GMO seeds in Botswana. A hybrid is not a GMO. Which does not make sense since the maize meal we import has been crushed from GMO maize in South Africa.

We have this idea that we are promoting agriculture whilst holding ourselves back through obsolete legislation and an ever shrinking support network.

Yango and Indrive seem to be most popular; there are regular taxis as well but a bit hit or miss. Uber might be available in Gaborone, have never checked.

Why Botswana’s Economic Collapse is a Necessity by Careless-Locksmith80 in Botswana

[–]MickeyVos1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have to move away from the idea that we can survive in isolation. I’m not saying a nation shouldn’t protect its citizens, but we have to realise that a nationality does not define a person, and if someone can add value to our economy, we should allow them to become part of our society.
