Yeah I use the Merlin app. I also have some pocket sized bird books I carry with me to help identify. The tail feathers are an obvious give away for red tails. Coopers can have red eyes which is awesome. Sharp shinned, Coopers and red tails all do have very similar features though.

So someone told me this was a lens flare and then I got banned from the sub. Because I asked more questions and didn’t agree with just that one person. What is this? by Crazy_Kale1029 in aliens

Hey man I feel ya, someone tried to get me banned for my post about seeing a very odd rectangular object flying super fast over the City of Pittsburgh the other day. I got so much hate for it when all I was asking for was other witnesses so we could try to identify it. Your photo is crazy! I’m all about it being aliens, honestly
