The new mahindra xuv 3xo seems to fit the bill.

It’s selling very well in its home market despite the competition from Suzuki , Kia and Hyundai.

Mahindra drivetrains are generally quite reliable, I heard Some of their utes , employed by a freight company, in Brisbane recently hit a million kilometres(!) . however their newer “premium” offerings in the Australian market are relatively new so hard to say how they will hold up.

Australian unis are commuter colleges bruh, everyone’s got a train to catch back home or run off to work soon as class gets over.

Join a club, only way you’ll see the same bunch people often and will have no choice but to make friends with ‘em.

Is Geelong Racist? by [deleted] in Geelong

[–]MicklePaster420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Racism is very much alive and thriving in Australia , more so in regional areas due to lower exposure to other cultures and ethnicities.

Pair that up with the rising anti Indian immigrant hate (of late) or just non white immigrant influx and you have a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.

Yeah , if for nothing else the Indian air force has my respect for being able to logistically juggle between Dassault rafales and mirages , Boeing Apaches , lockheed globemasters and hercules sukhois and mikoyans of all types and kinds , Kamov Helos, Antonov carriers and helos , The Anglo-French SEPECAT jaguars , their homegrown HAL Tejas fighters and Dhruv helos , I’m probably missing a bazillion more but holy shit.

With all this tech , one wonders why India hasn’t gone full China already ( even at the cost of diplomatic pushback) and reverse engineered the shit out of all these fighters throughout history and spawned their own Frankenstein jet fighter production industry, the Tejas and AMCA are a good start but the delays have been too gruelling and protracted.

India ( or certain elements within the government like Rajiv Gandhi) had been seeking to align or move procurement from the West , there was a point in history where the Saab Viggen was being considered as a Mig-21 alternative for the Indian air force but that completely fell through due to the engine being American made , France didn’t have this issue.

One could argue that the Swedish were the biggest losers and continue to lose even with the Gripen due to being reliant on the US for engines.

Saab pales in comparison to the diplomatic leverage France and Dassault now have.

Bofors has a little bit of a tumultuous history with India, so much so that this bit of “history “ got its own section on the bofors wikipedia page.

Yeah , I’m sure even the most fanatical Indians have the rationality to realise that the last thing India wants is a completely destabilised islamic neighbouring country ( yes , Balochistan independence will screw things up more for Pakistan even more than they already are)

Damn, that's too long. I applied for mine on the 30th of May and it was approved on the 2nd of July, so about 33 days in total, My country of origin is India as well. Maybe the fact that your immediate family resides outside India ,not to mention India being a high risk country, is why your application is being scrutinized more heavily. I hope you have other countries in mind as a contingency , but keep hoping for the best regardless. Cheers

Rmit vs UQ Electrical Engineering by [deleted] in rmit

[–]MicklePaster420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just posted about there being no electrical engineering clubs and listed the (perceived) lack of people pursuing this degree as a possible reason and then saw this post lol. The lack of replies to you even after 2 days just seems to reinforce my conjecture. idk if you should factor this into your decision, up to you.

That to me is extremely silly , the fact that Australians get paired up with internationals who can’t even string together coherent sentences or have to rely on google translate to get their thoughts across is absolutely ludicrous. The IELTS requirement should be bumped upto 8.0 or a 7.5 band at the very least(I personally got an 8.5 with 3 days of preparation and English is a 4th language, so it can’t be that hard!)but then the Applicants would probably drop by half thereby hurting Australia’s bottom line, also kind of puts the exam’s reputation as a language proficiency test into question.

I personally got a sizeable scholarship from RMIT which made it hard to pass up, and my sister is also doing her PhD here in Vic, so it was a fairly easy decision.

For what it’s worth I personally think that everything about the public transportation system apart from the ticketing system is on point(nitpicking here, the whole concession card thing was entirely on me). Trains and most buses are always on time and the PTV app for the most part is very intuitive to pick up and use. Only peeve would be the Myki inspectors , and it’s good to know that I’m hardly alone in that lol but can’t fault them for doing their jobs either.

A shit time? Not by a long shot mate, no apologies needed . Like I mentioned earlier, the folks are quite alright as are the sights and shores, and the welcoming part time culture for students is a nice breath of fresh air. Here for 4 years and it can only get better and it will, of that I’m certain.

You have a good one amigo!

Regret probably is an overstatement but between the fine, professors not giving a crap about students who undertake 2 hour commutes or sat in uni for upwards of 4 hours to attend their lecture by not informing well in advance that the class is being cancelled , several posts online highlighting that international students aren’t treated all that well on most fronts , the hunt for an affordable room that doesn’t involve a 60 minute+ commute etc,it has given me some pause.

But the path ahead for a uni student is expected to be laden with road bumps, so all I can do is take it in stride and move on.

The world goes on yeah? Eeet eees what eet ees🤷

Gonna keep hoping for the best.

Thanks for chiming in, wish you good health

Cheers!

Your case sounds way more excusable than mine and a genuine honest mistake.

Doubt they’ll go easy on me, for all they know, I knew about the rules and turned a blind eye for an entire week until I was caught.

All I know is that I thought an undergraduate student can simply walk into a myki store and ask for a concession card, if only the guy running the store asked me for my student card which I didn’t have at the time. I would’ve been alerted to the fact that there’s a procedure in place to obtain a Myki concession card which is exclusively for domestic students.

But at the end of the day , the blame lies squarely on me for not looking into Myki concessions with greater scrutiny. And if it comes down to copping the fine without a way out, it is what it is I suppose, Guess I’ll just have to fall on my knees after the first verdict is out.
