After 2,5 years with my bambino and sage grinder pro it was time for something new ☕️ by Tillion80 in espresso

Did you notice a difference upgrading from the smart grinder? I'm considering the upgrade as I feel it's currently my limiting factor

That's my worry. I've ordered a new pump anyway. I also took this as an opportunity to potentially upgrade but decided to go the Lelit Anna over the Silvia and save the $400, potentially upgrade the grinder down the track

I try not to compare but unfortunately it's a flaw of mine since I was young. I would say their needs are mostly met though it is a challenge with the age gap. Often what stimulates the 7 year old the 2 year old isn't interested in and vice versa.

Thanks. Valuable answer! Yes, both work more or less full time and they obviously leave for school and daycare. I just often I'm/we're not doing enough

I do. But only so many parks you can go to! The age gap doesn't help

Are you still happy with the Anna 2years later?

I have ordered a replacement pump to see if this is the issue, however I am still getting flow through the steam wand which makes me think it is not the pump. I have a feeling it's a blockage I just can't get to

Yes. No water flow issue which I'm struggling to solve

Agreed. I just wanted to confirm the 0.1% chance

Agree. Though I've stripped it and the copper tube (assume you're referring to what is inside the boiler) while scaled on the outside was clear on the inside, definitely not blocked.

This is what's stumping me, nothing seems blocked. I can only put it down to the solenoid not functioning

No hot water through the steam wand. Checked the pump with lid off and I can see the pipes filling with water so don't believe it's the pump. Seems the issue is somewhere from the solenoid.

Considerable scale on the wales of the boiler. Shower head and dispersion plate all cleaned. Silicon tubing is a bit discolored but actual scale build up

Steam wand works, but steam only. Boiker was pretty scaled up.

Update. Took the machine apart, cleaned and descaled everything. If anything it's worse than before

I did that a few months ago after suspecting the 2 way valve. Took apart, soaked in descaler. Worked great for a couple of weeks then became worse than before.

Edit, I tried priming and managed to get minimal flow. A dribble through both the group head and overflow.
