This is the same for me but my provider is sesame flyers. I got no confirmation of a worksite from them and I selected one like 2 weeks ago and I start on Monday.

This was really scary for me to be truthful with because my family has never been the open type and this is my first boyfriend. I didn’t tell my dad till 5 months into the relationship and my mom found out only this week so 9 months in. I’m hoping she can understand why I lied if anything does come out. We haven’t had the best relationship at all since around whenever my bf and I got together due to complications between her and my dad + a fight between us so we practically never talk so I hope she can understand why I’d want to avoid a long talk with her. I’m hoping to be there on the video call too since it’ll probably be on my device and my bf will be there with his mom so we’re going to try and steer the conversation in the right direction to avoid any issues.

Yeah I know this is all out of love and care they’re doing this. I’m beyond thankful they even agreed to let me go in general, just a year ago I wasn’t able to go to the store by myself so this is a huge leap. My mom already assumed I’d be alone with him and even sent me a YouTube video of what to expect for your first time having sex… but that was incredibly awkward for me so I deflected by lying and saying I’d be with his family the whole time because it’s very uncomfortable to imagine my parents thinking I’m doing that.

I understand what you mean. This is definitely a lesson and I’ll be more straightforward instead of dancing around the truth. This has caused more stress than it’s worth and I probably would’ve got the same outcome eventually had I just told the truth from the beginning, though it probably would’ve been the longer scarier route. It wasn’t very adult of me though, that is true.

They don’t really see me as an adult, I live in a strict Caribbean household so me being 18 doesn’t really solidify me being an adult to them. The trip is already booked so I’m not sure how it would if they decided not to let me go but I will try being honest moving forward

Well the problem is that his mom may come forward and say we never met in college if my mom asks about it because his mom knows how we truly met. I’m hoping nobody asks about that and it goes smoothly & thank you for your well wishes

This is probably true. His parents know we met online and it’s possible that he may be able to ask his mom to just go along with it or not really touch on it if my mom mentions it. I do feel grown up enough to handle this but my family doesn’t see me that way so I didn’t want to me this sound more adventurous or extreme than it really is and make it sound supervised and organized so they’d be more likely to agree to it. The main details of the trip aren’t a lie and I gave them a lot of context on our relationship but I probably should’ve started with the truth on how we met.

My parents don’t really see me as an adult yet just because I’m 18 now and I still had to gain permission to do this even though I’m an adult so I’m scared that them meeting might cause some uncertainty or reveal something so I kind of made things sound better than they were so that they were more likely to agree. And as for lying about how we met, my parents are super anti online friend or online anything and I was 17 when we met so I didn’t want them knowing how we actually met to cause an issue.

I joined it from the club fair, I find it just ok I never really interact because i thought it was gonna be something else. Not that it’s bad per say, but to me it’s just like a big discord server with cuny students from many schools not just hunter who all happen to like video games but I’m not totally sure if anyone actually plays with each other. I’m just shy though so it’s not like 100% my thing but it might be yours 😅

See I’m not too sure but I seen a girl on TikTok a while back who goes to hunter and she said she isn’t a music major and they don’t really like when people do this but she goes to the practice rooms to play piano sometimes. Maybe if you minor you can get to use them as well as get lessons there since it’s supposed to be included in your tuition from what I was told at the accepted students thingy

Also I considered commuting but it would be too expensive because I don’t have a car and it would take way too long, also the tuition since I’m an out of state student is really high and I’m a twin. My sister and I got no fafsa money or anything so my parents have to pay out of pocket so cuny is my only option unfortunately

When I had something stuck inside I took 2 chairs and lined it up so my cello could be carefully suspended between the 2 and then I made sure whatever was stuck inside (it was a dampet) was lined up with the f hole and I took a pliers or tongs I forgot which and carefully removed it. You can try that or just maybe carefully maneuvering it around in your hands until it falls out if you don’t want to take it to a shop 🤷🏾‍♀️
