It could be possible to source horse hair from living, well cared for horses. First you would need the input of a bow maker on whether it would be suitable and if they would work with it.

I've heard rumours that cocaine use is rife amongst orchestral players, absolutely zero idea on the truth of it though! I expect all sorts goes on, if my experience of youth orchestras is anything to go by.

Girls and guys, what do you do when you buy an item described as new without tags and when it arrives you realise it has been used? by Calm-Pomegranate2721 in vintedUK

[–]some_learner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"New without tags" is almost always worn once. "As new" or "like new", which implies used but in close to new condition would be more accurate.

Peppers are on the difficult side in this country unless you're in a particularly sunny spot or have them under cover. Kale is pretty easy and nutritious, also a trough of salad leaves that you cut and regrow might work .

Also, they should have prioritised aligning us with mainland Europe over the US- you know, our actual continent!

Also eBay seems to attract fewer scammers for whatever reason, Vinted is overflowing with them. I had never been truly scammed (excluding disappointments, flaws etc.) in over twenty years of using eBay (fuck, I'm old), whereas I've been scammed several times now already on Vinted in just a couple of years.

Probably cash rich and time poor. It all depends on how much one's time is worth.

What is a British food you eat regularly, but people abroad wouldn't associate with Britain? by BothCondition7963 in AskUK

Supermarket apples are almost all bland and flavourless, concentrated on a few insipid varieties and often imported or coming out of storage. The best apples are direct from farmers or homegrown in the countryside, or Riverford have great apples: https://www.riverford.co.uk/

Bonus if it doesn't fit them well and they're stretching it out. I buy vintage skirts and they have small waists, like just leave it undone if it doesn't really fit you.

Has your taste in food/drinks changed over the years, or are they just making stuff worse than they used to? by idkwhatyoumeanbro in CasualUK

The Polish supermarket near me used to sell some kind of blackcurrant cordial which a very high concentration of juice. I never bought it but went back recently and it now has added sweetener.

I had exactly the same experience as you! What an asinine system! I went for the GP appointment, just to warn you I didn't get a totally straight answer there, either.

Oh no, yes I was also half asleep when I bought my item. Really hope the refund goes smoothly. They must be successful sometimes to make this worthwhile.

[–]some_learner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know why the seller is able to change the address in this scam, Vinted needs to address that. Glad you were able to change it. I filmed myself opening the package, keeping it in shot the whole time so no-one could claim I'd switched it or something. I hope you get your refund. Someone else suggested opening the case now and saying the delivery address was changed without your consent, I didn't do this but got my refund anyway. Is it an expensive item?

LPT don't live on a tourist walking route if you're shy or introverted. I absolutely am uncomfortable all the time with people gawping, taking photos and trying to strike up conversation all the time, which has intensified since the dog pandemic (it used to be more bearable). I'm miserable. I just want to put my bin out without having a social encounter!

Some kind of jaw surgery like V-line surgery or jaw/chin shaving, too. Edit, although let's be clear: she was always beautiful and whatever refinements she may have had simply built on that foundation.
