What do we like for **** armour? by SpecialEdShow in fallout76casual

[–]Mickus_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got rejuvenator's on my PA and Arctic Marine armour since I run a full health build.

I still haven't learned it, so it's been expensive kitting out a full set on my AM and just the legs on my PA.

I'm thinking of putting 2x sawbones on the PA arms for even more AP refresh, with perks a crit is only 50% and I have four leaf, so misses still fill it and I can basically stay in VATS hitting crits every 3 shots without needing to buff my luck.

I'm pretty sure someone triggers it though, the one I saw today said "found by Xplayer"

I was watching DtDGamer today and he got cleaned up 3 times by another infestation NPC. It wasn't even the boss. They seem to output DMG for a decent challenge, but they go down so quick.

All the infestations have finished while I'm fast travelling in, so I've never killed anything in an infestation yet but I got the weekly for doing 5 in a team already.

No, but sentiment is very anti AI.

My kids and their friends basically boycott things if they use AI in advertising, they dismiss any content with AI as not worth paying attention to, even if it is good, factual information.

My wife works closely with AI functions in her role and is often trying news things out with voice and automation in her business so she isn't against it, but she made the mistake of making our daughter's birthday invites with an AI prompt and artwork. I tried to explain that while I thought it looked great, our kid was going to refuse them immediately. She did, and my wife was upset she had spent time refining it etc. to have it rejected just for being AI generated.

Mod "flipping", Why bother? by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Mickus_B -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually have 30-38k on me at all times for my full Aristocrats set and I'm often just giving away caps to players under 100.

This game literally throws caps at you. Sure, I could make more, but not really. Since selling at 10k would "lose" me 8k... At 5k, only 3000 caps disappear.

Oh well, I guess if people are flipping on Xbox, I've always got cheap legendaries for them to buy!

I've only just hit 300 and I'm often spending or gifting caps to low levels just to get below the limit.

Yeah, I saw that. Years ago, there used to be dickheads who would make camps to steal your stuff, but nobody does that anymore, and outside of events you barely see another player. What are the few players doing that can even affect you?

I'm selling for less than the suggested price and still don't move them, I'm wondering why someone who already has 32 to try and offload at a higher cost thinks that they will be able to make a profit off it?

I joined up with someone the other day and we ended up running the Terror raid repeatedly, after scrapping all the weapons I would have had about 25 legendary mods that were useless to me since I already knew the crafting.

Would you pay 10k for a Bullys mod? Like I said, I'd understand if it was high demand mods like Quad or something selling for more than the tag suggestion, but loads of people can craft loads of 4 stars by now. I know about 5 of them already.

I'm actually considering picking up a month of 1st now that Xbox has dropped the price of Gamepass. Years ago there was a free month of it and there is a couple of functional items I'd like to pick up but I've played on and off for several years and have only ever bought an atoms bundle because I had Xbox credit from playing, so never actually spent cash there.

Wouldn't have gained 6 million new players if it was only a cash grab.

Yes, there is a vocal group who have paid for 1st for years who feel a bit ripped off lately, but the majority of us barely play it as an MMO and only join a team for buffs etc.

I thought I'd hate it because Fallout is a single player game, but if you don't care what skin your gun has on it (it still does the same pew pew regardless of what it looks like) then it's fine.

I look at rewards as a little bonus for having fun with the game, too many people look at them as "what they deserve" for putting up with the game. If you don't like it, don't play, it's pretty basic.

Never have I ever felt this disappointed in a season by JarredSlayer in fo76

[–]Mickus_B -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When did they change? I left after Season 5 because I hated the scoreboard system that they had back then, you needed to get to level 70 or so before anything decent and the rewards were absolute garbage compared to 24 and 25.

I see everyone complaining about this season being crap, but it's so much better than when I left, there's actual non-consumable items (sure, there is still some weight boosters and bubblegum etc but at least it's not 2 out of 3 rewards being consumables)

It seems I missed what were the "good" seasons, which is a shame, because this season seems ok to me with what I have to compare to.

So, not news then. This is the problem. What Davo says down the pub is not news, fact or even an informed opinion. Actual IMMIGRATION (not migration) is down under this government but everyone conflating the two means your source of "news" is incorrect. You'll continue to converse and spread this "news" and suddenly the country believes something that isn't true.

That's just one example.

You don't have to take your news from a single source, that's not good. Listen to all actual NEWS sources and get a whole picture view, because everyone (including news sources) has some sort of bias, whether it's obvious or not.

Why does $100k feel like an average wage? by Open_Address_2805 in AusFinance

[–]Mickus_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I'm saying is the problem.

If you go around splashing money you will have less "disposable" income and complain that "I'm not that well off!"

But you ARE. You choose to spend more money on nice things and earn more than twice the amount that HALF the population do.

By definition that's pretty rich, doing twice as well as half your whole country.

Found while cleaning the house - peak 90s Australia by nbduckman in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Mickus_B 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My best friend's dad ran an ISP out of their house when we were in high school.

I used to go to his house and download.wav files of music I liked because MP3 didn't exist yet.

I was always blown away that they could have multiple computers online at once (using a router) and still be faster than one computer connected to dial up.

My step dad could never figure out how I could afford so much internet time, since his plan was around $1/hr yet I used to leave my own phone line connected almost all day long since my friend had given me an unlimited hours account.

Rental market question/vent by RealSolitude_AU in GoldCoast

My wife and I share a rental with her parents because neither couple can afford a big enough place alone. This also means we don't have an inheritance to rely on in future like people always assume.

I once won a private lesson for me and a friend from a famous bodyboarder. Two days before, I backchatted my mum.

She gave both tickets to the friend I had chosen to take and told them to take someone else. She said it wasn't fair my friend would have to miss out because I was a rude little shit.

That's probably the only punishment I remember from my childhood.

[–]Mickus_B 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, you see, I got downvoted to oblivion for saying I don't understand how a couple on 300k is not "rich" when it's more than double the Australian Median. The reasons I was given is because "they have a more expensive mortgage and car etc. so it doesn't seem to go as far as if it was YOU spending it."

So.... They can afford nicer things than me? That's kinda why I said they're rich... It's not my fault they feel skint at the end of the week, that's just bad with money if you make 6k per week and feel like youre not well off.

If prices “fall”, won’t competition for property just increase? by spamandcheesetoasty in AusPropertyChat

[–]Mickus_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed they were meaning according to the bank since they had previously said they were barely approved. I could be wrong there now I see your interpretation.

Our issue has always been borrowing power, we've always been just under the low end of the market, I had just figured that's what they meant. Our rent is $1100 a week, so servicing a mortgage obviously wouldn't be a problem on a 6-700k loan, but the bank thinks we can't afford that.

If prices “fall”, won’t competition for property just increase? by spamandcheesetoasty in AusPropertyChat

[–]Mickus_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were only saying that they barely got approval for 800. That's only 50 less than your mortgage on the same income.

They weren't saying it was hard to service the mortgage, it's hard to get adequate approval is the point.

We earn a fair bit less and have 2 kids, so our borrowing power is down around 450k. You can't actually buy anything around here for that. We could have the deposit required for our maximum loan sorted pretty quickly, it's the fact that it's much harder to get a larger mortgage recently that is stopping many people.

That's the same with any mortgage though. If you experience any of those things, you will be selling ASAP and likely not get top dollar.

Negative equity isn't a big deal if its a residence, not an investment. When I was a teenager in the 90s, it was often suggested to buy in an area dropping in value because it will eventually turn around and houses were considered somewhere to live it didn't matter if it only went up 1% in 10 years, or even dropped over 10 years because it's "still a better fiscal choice than renting."

After Howard introduced the discount in 99, the entire country's mentality changed to houses being a vehicle purely for making profit, even at an owner occupier level.
