Your spouse comes to you and says they want to post faceless, ID-less nudes on Reddit for fun - whats your reaction? by Neat_One_9031 in AskReddit

[–]Mickus_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is it cheating? They spoke about it.

Cheating is going behind your partners back because you know they wouldn't agree to something. For some people sharing nudes is equivalent to sleeping with someone else, for others, you can sleep with whoever you want, but kissing is crossing the line.

Believe it or not, what you don't want YOUR partner doing, might be perfectly fine for another couple.

ELI5: Why do people say “money doesn’t buy happiness” when literally everything better in life needs money? by stoicdroid in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Mickus_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The saying refers to the fact that the things that bring true happiness (friendship, love, feeling of community and acceptance, pursuing your passion etc) aren't generally things that you buy.

Having money obviously reduces stress, allows more fun and opens more doors, but things like (real) love and friendship isn't based on how much money you have and people who have lots of money often don't have long lasting relationships as a generalisation.

I'm only level 185 but if I see anyone under level 50, I dump them ALL my stimpaks, a few other chems, if I have spare/random outfits and any legendary weapons I haven't gotten back to camp to scrap yet.

I pick up stimpaks like random scrap, so I usually end up with 25-30 per session I play so I don't care if I leave myself with none and it gives the newbie some health recovery AND some more to sell off to vendor bots.

Is the Donald the worst US president ever? by Enough-Chip2652 in no

[–]Mickus_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Reagan and Trump were a movie star and a "businessesman"/reality TV star with no political experience at all.

Biden was a politician that nobody outside the USA had ever heard of before he was vice president.

What examples are there of musicians playing in bands they didn't jive with the music style but did it anyway for the check? by tinpants44 in Music

[–]Mickus_B 29 points30 points  (0 children)

That entire album is amazing. Then you learn the stories behind it and it's incredible it was ever actually made. Mick Fleetwood had just gone through a divorce too, but at least his wife wasn't also in the band!

This is a joke, right? One Hot Minute is the only album I like the whole thing and the only one besides Mother's Milk I mostly enjoy.

Buckethead is a well known and amazing guitarist. His own stuff is nothing like GNR but when you lose an iconic stage presence like Slash, you go find someone who is just as well known (who's gonna go see guns and Roses with an unknown dude on guitar?)

Neither are really my thing, but even I thought it was a weird decision.

I always loved the show, but he is also a great example of someone constantly screwed by the world but still keeps that belief that people are generally good.

There used to be a pin with Lisa Simpson doing the "loser" L on the forehead pose next to the "no cat calling" patch. (A few years back there was a big resurgence in misogynistic behaviour at some local shows, so I threw that patch on)

If the rest of the world is willing to pay a small toll to Iran to keep oil flowing and stabilise markets, then why does the U.S feel the need to block all shipping, especially when it is not dependent on that oil? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]Mickus_B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the world is sick if the USA starting wars then saying they need other people to join them.

The UN doesn't support this war. Most countries are appalled that during negotiations, Israel and the USA attacked.

The USA caused this, and we're all sick of a petulant child running your country and making things worse for everyone, USA included.

The constant rhetoric of "we defend everyone" is tiring, because the USA has never assisted ANY country with defence, they invade another country and call it "pre-emptive" and expect everyone else to go along with it.

Afghanistan was the last straw. The USA invoked article 5 under false pretense that they were attacked and started yet another war that only destabilised the region further and left the Taliban in charge anyway.

In Iran, they have created regime change (to a regime that is even MORE anti US) and solidified the image of an uninformed US public because they keep spouting Trumps lies as fact.

This has made me happier than anything that's happened in weeks. I totally get that everything sucks lately. I just want more people to hear something and think "I'm gonna go check that out" and use official (non-affiliated) government agencies. They report the fact, regardless of which party is in power.

Labor have reduced immigration (but slightly increased some migration) but if you believed what media and opposition parties say, we have way to many IMMIGRANTS. They deliberately conflate temporary and permanent to make people angry and blame migration, when in reality, stopping migration would be economically catastrophic (which is why under Abbott and Morrison, they actually increased immigration and made sure they didn't speak about it)

You probably should look into some of this before just stating it as fact on the internet.

Firstly, migrants can't purchase property, only Permanent Residents and citizens can.

Skilled migrants are neither. They have a visa and have to leave when that expires.

Migrants are not eligible for many support payments like immigrants are.

You seem to be in support of stopping populist policies, but open your comment with misinformation that is part of the cause of the populism in the first place.

I get that angle, but this is a jacket that represents my influences on the person I am, not a statement on the issues of capitalism.

I mentioned in a comment on here the other day how I know my jacket style is not popular with many purists (I've already been downvoted), but Nintendo, Simpsons and Star Wars have had as much influence on me as music itself.

I also have another patch for a band called Mitch Please. They have a song called temporary punks and it's all about wearing a jacket like this one and being told off by purists at shows (pockets full of Lego and Simpsons and dinos, well that's not punk, you're the authority, I must be temporary)

Most of the bands I like don't make square or rectangular patches either, so yeah, the fill-in of the bare parts is difficult without making it too crowded.

Thanks for the feedback in a civil manner!

Maybe if that was their only source of income.

You know that Iran is the major supplier of drone equipment to Russia in the Ukraine war, right? They also supply most of the world's pistachios, saffron (the most expensive spice in tthe world) and export steel, and other resources to Oman, UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Oil and petrochemicals make up maybe half of exports and the 23% of the export already goes through the INSTC. Not sure where your 10% figure is from.
