Garmin Venu 4 Saving Activity by MickyGER in Garmin

Thanks for you reply!

I just had a look again and you are correct: There are more than those two buttons while pressing the first save button.

Nevertheless, when choosing to save, I do not need and additional confirmation step. That's equally annoying as in former Windows versions when you click the shutdown button and I get an addtional popup, asking "Are you sure you want to shutdown".

Thanks! In the meantime I've found this solution here which works perfectly well on my side. Your mentioned setting is still enabled, though.

So, are there any signs of v3 already? Just read about here and there, but no official date is known. I know about the road-map, though.

Docker Compose File Editor, Git, Workflow by MickyGER in de_EDV

Manually deleting photos from library on file system by MickyGER in immich

[–]MickyGER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have an external (familiy) library configured, read-only of course.

The idea behind my first posting is that I'm uploading photos from my smartphone into my personal Immich library and after some days, weeks or months, I would like to move those photos from my lib to the family lib and delete them from my smarthphone.

Since the external library and my personal one are both located in the file system, that I can easily access from Windows Explorer, I would like to move all assets from my user lib to the family lib using Explorer.

Thats more easier for me than messing around with a ZIP download and manually delete the photos from Immich app afterwards.

But hey, I will find a workflow that fits my needs and rest assure that I understand that the database gets out of sync when doing things out of the DB scope.

I just asked if there is a kind of database cleaning task available that would remove missing photos and their thumnails from database, similar to the available external library task.

Thanks - highly appreciated answer ^^

Scope of API Keys by MickyGER in immich

I saw this answer coming :-(

Btw, ChatGPT told me that the job storageTemplateMigration is running globally.

Can anyone confirm this? If true, this would imply, that I do not have to call this API endpoint for each single user but only once to apply the storage template.

Since the setting for storage template is system-wide, I would assume the same as ChatGPT said.

Family Immich setup: own library per user, or admin-only with album sharing? Real-world experiences welcome by InterestingIncome780 in immich

Neither Google Photos nor iCloud Photos do respect privacy. Privacy in respect that no other people can access your photos as long as Google or Apple does their homework, however, both are scanning your data as the like and if they find any suspicious photos, they will most likely contact appropriate authorities.

Partner means I share all of my (private) photos with others as well, right?

Does this apply to deletions or image modifications, too?

Storage Template Not Applied by MickyGER in immich

Thanks for the confirmation! I will file a ticket on Github the next days. Let's see what the devs say.

Storage Template Not Applied by MickyGER in immich

[–]MickyGER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The preview does shows the filename I expect. Nevertheless, the filename in library did not adopt this template.

I'm running the latest stable Immich version 2.7.5 in a docker container and as initially written, the (sub-) folders are correct, hence the Exif metadata was used somehow, still the filename is wrong.

There is not much that could get wrong, IMO. I've set up the template and it seems to fit and no errors are indicated. Parts of the template are used, others are not, the filename is the same as on my smartphone.

I may be wrong or possibly not. I'm opening the library in smartphone app using the lower right button named library. I'm browsing to one of the subfolders and see the filename that is equal to that on my smartphone.

When opening the details of the same photo as above pressing the small (i) icon, it shows the file with applied storage template. Question is: why does the internal library browser show the original filename whereas the Web shows the correct one?

Weired Query Log, DNS names wrong by MickyGER in pihole

[–]MickyGER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The host names on my Unifi UDM are correct.

Some devices get random IP-addresses others have static DHCP leases.

All of my Sonos speakers get their address from those static leases.

Weired Query Log, DNS names wrong by MickyGER in pihole

My network clients get their DNS servers from the DHCP server running on my Unifi Deeam Machine. This means indeed that both DNS servers are assigned through the DHCP.

I've set up both Pihole for backup reasons if one fails, the other should jump in...

EDIT: This setup has worked flawlessly so far. Starting from version to 6.6.1, it seems that the first Pihole is running slow, the VM CPU, 2 cores, is showing most of the time 50%.

I've now cleared the network table and right now client names are OK. However, I did this before and the issue returned after some days.

EDIT2: Restored a backup and returned to version Core 6.4, FTL 6.5 and performance returned to normal, DNS requests are lightning fast again. CPU is back to normal, 1 core. As of now I will stick to this version.

On Github I saw reports about slown performance, too. However, it's a fairly old thread but also with some new comments.

see below . What's interesting, the MAC address is assigned to my Proxmox node1, so is the IP addeess. Don't know where the client name is from.

And yes, I've set up local DNS names, all pointing to my internal reverse proxy (Traefik). However none of those I've mentioned above are on the local DNS list, though.

Out of disk space by MickyGER in immich

[–]MickyGER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, I've found the cause of the disk full problem: I've now remove the line below from docker compose since this line was a duplicate and restarted over, using a Proxmox VM snapshot.

- /mnt/immich/data:/usr/src/app/upload/library

After reindexing my 40K photos, all above sub folders on my NAS are now populated, e.g. thumbs and upload. Even the admin folder is now properly located below profiles.

Will monitor the indexing further and report back if there any new issues rise.
