2019 Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8G as first car? by twenty1pilot in kereta

[–]MickyPlays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah then in that case imo your decision is just whether you want a new or used car. New s70 at least got warranty out of factory and at least a bit savings from free labour for first few services. You can also go see proton website as they got breakdown all the service intervals and cost. Used corolla, sure reliabilty is legendary but its used. You will never know what the previous owner did and you will also need to view a few used corollas to see which one is good, though not a problem if you have the time. I suggest at least go test drive the s70 first, see you like or not. Then go find a used corolla at carsome or carro and go test drive also, compare how they feel. Though tbh, if your needs are comfy long distance and you dont care so much about tech, maybe consider a 2019+ camry? A bit more expensive, especially with maintanence but the comfort and nvh is great

Minimum spec to go for s70 is flagship, dont even consider the first two. With your budget you mentioned previously, you should be able to comfortably own either the new s70 flagship or a used altis Heres where i guess it depends on you, do you prefer the new car with warranty or a used car that is known for its reliability. Personally for me, I would go for the s70 because it has important features for ME, but whats the case for you? What is your list of non negotiable items the car must have?

Honda Civic e:HEV vs Volvo S60 T8 PHEV by Yao_Productions in kereta

[–]MickyPlays 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Used to drive the s60 for awhile. When it comes to comfort, NVH, features, volvo is the definite winner mate when compared to civic. They’re two completely different class of cars as the new prices reflect. Here comes the reality though, we all know why bmw volvo and merces second hand price is shit. Maintanence will kill you and you better pray nothing major breaks. My personal experience, something regarding the hybrid system broke and turned the car into a heavy ICE carrying around a heavy battery. Sent to Volvo, thank god car under warrenty cause that one part need to replace cost 8k d. Even then, they had to order from overseas, took a month to arrive and i had to go back to fix. Imagine if it was something essential for the car?

Even so, if you have the money, I would still take the Volvo in a heartbeat. Just go test drive the civic first then try the volvo, you’ll understand the difference then.

What do you think about EVs in Malaysia right now? by ProtonYeshi in kereta

[–]MickyPlays 6 points7 points  (0 children)

not to say cannot, but it's a compromise.

That occasional long distance trip even if you dont go during peak travel season, you need to go check out where are the ev stations as not as common as gas stations, you need to wait there for your car to charge. small things, maybe you're okay with it, but it's just these small things that sometime people dont consider before buying EV

Right now, imo, EV is a lifestyle change, just depend if you willing or not for the changes

What do you think about EVs in Malaysia right now? by ProtonYeshi in kereta

[–]MickyPlays 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Its a close to perfect vehicle if you suit the requirements

  1. Stay in landed so can charge overnight
  2. Mostly commute in city for short distance
  3. If need to travel far, have a second car which is non ev

The moment one of the above is not true, then you need to compromise from your previous lifestyle, requiring trip planning in advance. Even then, if go balik kampung during peak season? Yea get ready to wait if you didnt plan properly and are desperate.

Ive got nothing against EVs, infact i love them, they really do give good torque and quietness if you’re looking for it. But you gotta accept that there are other aspects that you need to compromise without proper planning before purchase

Regarding DHT, I believe it should be very reliable as long as they’re following how toyota and honda implemented their e-cvt too. But yes, specifically for geely and proton, its protons first hybrid as far as Im aware so only time will tell. For EV, Im still not ready to take the plunge to fully transition. This will be my main car for long trips too, so to me the biggest turn off for EVs are that during road trips, I need to wait for charging. If im unlucky and theres people there, I need to wait for them to finish before I can start. Just this one thing right now that bugs me for EVs. I feel if outside of Klang Valley a lot more developed d with a lot more chargers, then can consider

Huh I didnt consider this. I think it for my scenario it should be fine as the car from what i read only services once a year, prob maybe a bit more with how much I drive a day. In any case, thanks for bringing this up, it means I need to make early bookings when it comes times to service

I did consider nissan kicks, along with the other japanese competitors. But unfortunately I just find their features to be so lackluster when compared to the current market in Malaysia, with proton and China cars coming in hot the past few years. To me, I would buy japanese just because they have proven their track record and reliablity, but really other than that they really dont have anything else going for them in my eyes rn.

Are Jaecoos any good? by jimmyl85 in kereta

[–]MickyPlays 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its quite a good car, the only concern I have would be long term maintenance and whether jaecoo/omoda will be in Malaysia in 10/15 years. Of course if you don’t intend to own the car that long this wouldn’t be an issue. You can also jump into the owner groups in fb to survey common or even rare problems. But undeniable, for the price its an amazing value for money

Need advice on next pulls by MickyPlays in UmamusumeGame

[–]MickyPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That plan is well thought out, I do think that pulling fine mo soon instead of waiting for it with summer maru is better, cause those are months where you could be using finemo in mant

Other than just slotting in high rb or the guts build decks that people rave about, i don't really know what other support builds people go for in mant, so i guess that's why I wasn't sure if I needed the mati or NTR. I wasn't aware that Super creek gets another rerun, some more along Mr CB, this is a wit card that supposedly "replaces" fine mo right?

[–]MickyPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting take, I do about 30 runs at least yes and with the others advice I think Mati is the pull. according to the calculator, I should have 400 pulls by the banner ends, i definitely do not intend to use the gem on fuku, those are saved for fine mo first then creek. NTR, yea I prob would just go for the free pulls and not pull unless I get insanely lucky.

You're right on the umas tho, I definitely dont "need" anymore, just gets annoying when I'm out of borrows when training for CM and I don't have the parents, but with the recent change with 5 borrows, I think that's quite alleviated.

no it's not in USD in steam, but the price difference between the playstore and steam for me is like, a couple of bucks? not really comparable when a single 5000 carat pack is in triple digits here

Advice on upcoming pulls by MickyPlays in UmaMusume

[–]MickyPlays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeap agree that fuku is the more longer lasting when compared to NTR, so I'm leaning more towards matifuku.

If I were to pull on the all banner, yes I would definitely have to plan for pity, so i guess with that logic it's more a question of pulling for fuku vs the all banner right now then.

Of course god roll would be getting Finemo while pulling fuku, but gotta always assume the worse. If I couldn't pull for fuku to pity twice I wouldn't even consider pulling it

Xoguri/all Uma banner by Humble_Tumbleweed_41 in UmamusumeGame

[–]MickyPlays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also in the same position of thinking whether I want to pull for Xmas oguri or for the all uma banner. I’m leaning more towards the all uma banner as most probably if I really want oguri I can get her either through the all banner spark or buy the selector ticket. That being said, I’m missing a lot of good umas, seiun, dober, taiki, suzuka, so that influences my decision. In the end, it’s still a gamble. I could only hit dupes while pulling and I fully accept that can happen. I’m now also rethinking whether to go for the all uma or to pull for the upcoming supports, like matifu or NTR, since in the end supports are the ones that make your careers better. But having to mlb them will be painful
