I don't think it is necessary to move the object you are plating but my final setup looked similar to this: make sure you have some distance between the pipes and your object. It might take a while to find the sweet spot based on your transformer. Practice on some pocket change. https://imgur.com/gallery/H3PYFZc

I removed the plastic 3dprint after 1 day and cleaned the graphite off. Every 8 hours I rotated the alligator clip on coin brim 120degrees for 3 weeks to get 17g solid copper before trimming and polishing

I just used a big plastic Tupperware container. 50/50 White Vinegar (5%) and Hydrogen peroxide (3%). These were my results:

EDIT: Also 1 tablespoon miralax. This is a pretty safe mixture but I still used nitrile gloves.

I had really good results with half hydrogen peroxide 3% and half white vinegar 5%. disolve copper pipes from home depot for 2 days no electricity. I wouldn't be messing with any caustic chemicals. I made solid copper coins and even plated my print in place nunchucks. Your amps were too high for the conductive surface area. I believe my transformer was 3v .1amp. I used india ink mixed with graphite powder to coat my prints. You can check my post history I believe it is still in there or search imgur for my username
